I'm quite pleased with what I achieved yesterday, I feel like I've got the 'hard' jobs over with now.  I did all the beds and caught up with all the washing.  I cleaned the oven, and generally tidied around.  The kids have been threatened that Father Christmas won't be impressed if he sees their bedroom is a mess when he drops off their stockings, so hopefully that will encourage them to keep the room tidy.  I need to ensure the floor is clear anyway so I can continue with the daily hoovering!

    Today's plan:
    • Visit the garden centre to get something for my Mum (didn't want to do it too early and risk me killing it :D )
    • Try and distract the kids long enough to allow me to go upstairs and sort the gifts
    • Arrange all the gifts for family so I know they are ready to go
    • Tidy and organise the kids toys downstairs
    • Sort the Christmas food and make sure we've got everything.

Have a good day everyone :)

I always used that tidy up threat too. I always made them declutter loads before xmas - for the 'poor children' so that they would have room for their new gifts.

  • Glad the drs went well and you have managed to get the bigger/boring jobs out of the way.
I am inspired by your reading plans. I've been so caught up in things I rarely read any more. I started a book when off with the little one isolating and it reminded me of the 20 things we promised to do in 2020 thread.  I might have a look later and see what I pledged. Hope the garden centre visit goes well

Yes, I didn't manage to get to the declutter this year, so that will be a job for after Christmas now I think.  They did get rid of the odd bit, but with little miss's birthday party, we recluttered!  Luckily most of it is consumables like craft stuff, so it won't be here for ever.

Thank you :)  I ought to read back to the start of the year and see whether I've achieved anything I planned, thanks for the reminder.  I do love to read, I always have a book with me and dip in whenever I get a chance.

Well I managed the top two items on my list, need to try for the other three today.

I've got my hygienist appointment today, I kind of wish I hadn't bothered until next year but at least it will be out of the way.

I've got to pick up the turkey as well.

DH has been given tomorrow off which is nice for us, but it's due to quietness as everyone is cancelling everything.  We'll just have to see how things go next year.

Got the mortgage increase letter (Happy Christmas!), but it's only going up by £5 so not really an issue.

    Have a good day!

Hygienist done.  £50 it cost me and I was in there about 5 minutes!! 😱  Definitely wish I hadn't bothered.

Turkey collected and toys tidied a bit.

DH has been told not to go in on Monday (unpaid) 😥 who knows what will happen after that.  It's nice to have the Christmas break, but the uncertainty is not pleasant for businesses or staff 😡
