Well it looks like we've got the sofas, so we've had a bit of a panic on how we'll actually collect them tomorrow. Managed to book a man with van for £40 so it will still be a bargain assuming all is ok with them and he turns up!
We've had a lovely day with friends today combined with a bit of Otter Spotting on the Dartmoor Otter trail. Weather was rubbish as was traffic, but the rest was good fun!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I volunteered at parkrun this morning, and both kids ran good times.
Not much planned for this afternoon, but we'll need to clear space to get the sofas in. I think they are slightly smaller than our existing ones, so that's good. We'll dump the current ones out in the back garden so we can break them up enough to get them in one of our vehicles to get them to the tip. They are not reusable in their current condition. We've had them over 15 years so they don't owe us anything.
DH has sold a couple of items on ebay so will pack those later.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -
Well done to the runners (and Mum for helping at the event)!
Sofas are hard to dispose of, aren't they!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Well thank you to everyone who suggested FB marketplace, I don't think I would have looked at it otherwise! We are now the proud owners of two 'new' sofas which are in much better condition than the ones we had previously, and also a little smaller so we've gained a bit of space!
Everything went really well, the man with a van turned up exactly on time, got the sofas to us, helped put them in the house, and then helped get the old ones out as well, which was more than we'd asked for. We gave him an extra £5 as a thank you, so our new sofas cost us a grand total of £45They are better in reality than they looked in the photos too. so even better.
We're having a quiet day at home today as we've had a busy weekend and it's meant to be wet later. My shopping is due this morning, and I've got to attend a work meeting later. So I'm going to try the 15 minute thing again to try and get some stuff done. It worked so well the other day!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
Happy new sofa, hope you have a good day xx4
