Wow you savings figures are looking good Jwil
. And your de-cluttering totals are amazing as always
.
Doctors are useless for depression in my experience 😡. I had citalopram for two years but it made me put on a stone and feel a bit dopey and numb to everything. I waited six months for some useless CBT and then waited another six months for some 'counselling' from a male medical student half my age 😥. I'm coping now by avoiding alcohol and sugar (they cause mood swings), doing lots of exercise (to help me sleep and relieve stress) and positive thinking (not always easy but often works). I hope you find something that works for you. Buying the book seems like a good idea.

I've had citalopram before too. The one I was on last year was amazing for my anxiety, that's pretty much gone now, but made no impact on my depression. I want to avoid drugs if I can, but I will have to bite the bullet if I don't improve. I must exercise more! I am working on the positive thinking."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney4 -
Well I got on the scales this morning and I'm pretty much back to where I was when I started going to SW
What a waste of time and money that was. It's completely my own fault. My grocery bill last month was twice what it was in January, and that can be put down mainly to chocolate (!) and I've also got back into the habit of buying lunch (junk) rather than taking it.
I'm also aching constantly, I twisted my knee last week too which doesn't help my mood. I think tipping over into this stone band takes me from a point where my weight doesn't cause me issues to where it starts to affect me. I seem to be luckier than many in that it doesn't affect me at all normally and I am very heavy. I remember that the reason I originally started doing the C25K was because I was starting to get achey (again at around this weight).
I'm not in the frame of mind to 'diet' but I am going to start getting back to eating 'better'. I've bought the 2 chubby cubs recipe book today as I do like the look of their recipes. I will try and use that. I am going to get back to snacking on fruit and when I can, I will try and do the 16-8 fast as it does seem to reduce the quantity I eat.
Most of all though, I need to start moving. My body feels like it's completely seized up, and lost flexibility. I've got my aqua aerobics once a week, and I'm going to try and do at least two additional different activities each week. On a Thursday I normally do a fair bit of walking, so I'll try and add one further activity which involves stretching and flexibility. I want to make sure I'm using all of my muscle groups and not just doing the same thing all the time.
I'm staying away from the scales, I will weigh and measure each payday to see if I've made any progress.
This is not about dieting and losing weight, this is about fixing my body and my mental health. I managed to religiously do my physio exercises to fix my back last year, I need the same mindset now. I know I'm up and down like a yoyo at the moment, but I've really got to do this now."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney9
