That's another good start to your day, CCL. I find knitting sleeves tedious so I usually do back, sleeve, front, sleeve. Exactly the same amount of knitting, so it's purely psychological.

Back to school tomorrow. I can't decide if I'm excited about it or not. I think I'm looking forward to more things than I'm dreading.
Not looking forward to permanent masks, seeing what attitude the kids are coming back with or getting up at 6am. However very much looking forward to getting back in the classroom, doing some real teaching and seeing people again.
Just home from visiting my mam. I don't know when I'm next going to see her again but it's not going to be anything short term. I want to know how things settle out again before I risk seeing family. It's a shame but it's been a year now - I'm sure I can hang on a few more weeks (can't believe I'm going to have a second lockdown birthday - work but nothing else). Although I'm just sitting down to work for the day I have been quite busy. I did a 6k walk along the coast this morning, then went to Herr Aldee for some shopping before going to my mam's place. Also managed to get a load of washing done and hung out (ds finally gave me his uniform when he needs it tomorrow), wipe the kitchen tops and put some gammon on to soak before slow cooking. Since I got home I've emptied the gammon and put it into the slow cooker, then washed the dishes and sorted the cat trays. Plus I've started a to-do list for the week ahead, and have actually planned my meals ahead of time for once. Mostly. I'm doing something like gammon and roast potatoes or gammon and eggs with half of the gammon, plus a big vat of ham soup with the rest of it. Also going to make a big pot of banana and peanut butter porridge for breakfasts next week. And I got the stuff in to do a sweet potato curry. Also have some pork shoulder which I will slow cook but not sure what to do with it... I have to get into the habit of prepping food and taking lunches into work so as not to sabotage either my diet or my finances. I have been doing really well without the stress of work spoiling everything there. The one certainty is that it is going to be stressful - too many things beyond my control though.
So the most urgent tasks for today are to prepare 9 remote lessons for the week ahead and finish up on the 10 'real' lessons. I'm so pleased that we're having a staggered start so it should be a gentle easing in rather than full on straight away. Then shower, early night and do the best I can not to get stressed out about things I have no control over.

Just a thought - you should be doing home testing twice weekly, and if they're negative, would that give you confidence to still go and see your mam?
