Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath

You lot are so lovely to me. I wish you were all a bit closer because you're good for my self esteem. I would hug you all (if we weren't in a global pandemic). I am pleased with the house - it feels like my home now rather than just somewhere we live. And I'm proud that I've done so much of it myself as well. I could never have tackled bathroom or electrics though.
I'm supposed to be off out for coffee with a friend in an hour or so - it's been raining all night and there's a lot of water on the roads so I need to drive very carefully. I feel tired and headachey this morning - didn't sleep that well, but I've not had time to pull myself round just yet either. We shall see how it goes.

You have been so busy and productive, and good to read that your timetable acceptable though triple chemistry on a Friday afternoon would not be my idea of fun.
I don't think Ikea sells Venetian blinds anymore. There was certainly one if not more horrific incident and they stopped selling them as a result. Now obviously time passes, and safety measures improve, so it may be that they have started selling them again but certainly, when I was looking for one last year to match some already purchased a couple of years ago, I was advised they had withdrawn them from sale.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

I think 'triple chemistry' may refer to the pupils who are doing all 3 sciences separately, as opposed to double science. So it is the brighter kids. Hence a good way to end the week...

Yes, triple chemistry is the top set Year 11 class so that's really not a bad Friday last lesson. The only better one would be a free, and I'm not going to lie - I actually have a couple more frees than I was expecting so it's a winner all round. I can only hope that some of the more 'challenging' year 10 kids have either grown up or moved to another school over lockdown. Or hope that new classroom measures mean a change in attitude somewhere or somehow. I really hope that the new classroom layout and the fact that they can't wander means less confrontation and chatting amongst themselves. Who knows? Too many unknowns at the moment, but I am sort of looking forward to going back now and seeing people again - both kids and staff. Hopefully it won't be too far away from the normal running of things but somehow I won't be holding my breath.
So, met up with a friend today to have a coffee (outdoors - thank god it had stopped raining by the time I got there) which was lovely. Nice natter and a catch up. Then I've spent the afternoon helping dd with a combination of French and Maths (not together thankfully) and she's made me watch a lot of awful reality tv (Don't tell the bride mainly - I can tell I'm still very bitter when it comes to romance/men and weddings because I was just awfully sarcastic most of the way through the 4 hours I suffered). Then 3 episodes of Catfish which is more entertaining but still something I watch all open mouthed and astonished... Better than watching Missing on BBC1 which just hits a bit too close to home when I watch it. Anyway - I'm watching Dirty Dancing now and funnily enough neither of the kids are here watching with me. Ah well - I have some cats for company.
I've priced up my wooden blinds and dd is going to have to wait for them - maybe until Christmas. Her window is 6 feet wide so it needs a big blind, which my finances won't allow at the moment. I looked from the outside today and couldn't see the missing bits so it's not urgent other than dd being upset by it. Amazoon have them, and so do funelm and the grange so I will be able to get once the finances permit.
Right - time for me to sit and cuddle the kitten and cry at the telly. Have a good evening all...Not giving up

I'm not sure whether or not any human being could be as lazy as I have been for the past two days. I literally cannot be bothered with anything apart from sitting on my bum watching rubbish telly and eating rubbish food. I was up to feed the cats yesterday at 6am then made the fatal mistake of getting back into bed because I was cold. Next thing I knew it was 10am and I felt like I had a hangover - ds woke me up to ask me to take him out to buy chicken in a bag and potatoes because he was going to make us all roast chicken and roast potatoes for dinner. So I dragged myself up and out to Mr S for the weekly shop. Got home, folded the washing, washed the dishes and then bestie came over for a couple of hours.
Then ds made dinner - no veggies but he did a cracking plate of chicken, roast potatoes and yorkshires. I washed up as my part of the bargain. I can't wait until he starts doing that more regularly. I did some crochet, then hoovered upstairs - all in full winter woolly pyjamas because it's so blimming cold here at the moment.
Went to bed a bit earlier and to sleep a bit earlier then made myself stay awake when I woke up just after 7 this morning. I haven't washed up yet (couple of trays soaking overnight from yesterday) - just watched some tv and done some crocheting. We (me and dd) have an appointment at the tip this afternoon - probably our last one in the short term as there's very little decluttering to do now, and we are both back at school over the next week or so (Friday for her, following Monday for me) and ds has asked very politely if I might go to Mr M and buy him some cheesy garlic bread which he really loves from there. There are other things that need doing but there's nothing very urgent - I've already changed the litter trays and put the rubbish in the car. I still have a bit of painting to do in the outhouse (not today), and the masonry paint (need better weather). I'm just going to crochet for today I think - I fancy a day off...
