Are you available for hire at all?
XXNevertheless she persisted.11 -
Can you plan to paint the kitchen in October half term? That way you can sort of forget about it for now but in the back of your mind know it will be done in the not too distant future.8

Another plus to Frenchic paint I believe is that it doesn't smell which would be a real bonus after CCL's recent experience! Theres a FB page as well as the 'fficial website and folk post their efforts most of which look amazing. When I'm eventually going to get round to painting thats what I plan to use 😎12

Ah! Frenchic is the brand. It is just chalk paint. Available in Aldi (in white) for £4.99 a pot every time they do a 'crafters' or 'diy' special buy. I did my ceiling cornices and hall skirts in it as I had some in the house and I was too poor (well, I told myself I was too poor!) to go and buy another pot of the other paint for what is basically 6 inches x 20 feet. My god it was utterly painless. It barely smells at all and it covers nicely. Not sticky and dries in about 20 minutes flat. I have not had a problem with chipping or anything as where I painted is behind the front door and along the wall where the coat rack and radiator is, so it doesn't get kicked or boshed. So there, another vote for chalky french paint.

Hello! I have been a bit absent the past couple of days - apologies. I wish I could say it had been productive but it hasn't really. I'm busy but getting nowhere - mucking up crochet and not having nice enough weather to paint, and having a 24 hour stand off with ds over his attitude.
I didn't manage any painting yesterday because I was in an exam related meeting until lunchtime and then went out for a wander round the shops with dd and bestie (while ds was still stropping), and when I say 'wander' I mean to a queue at bee emm, then to Funelm (not for me - bestie wanted something). By the time I got home it was after 4pm, ds was still huffing and I couldn't be bothered to get the extra stinking paintwork paint out for round 2. So I did some crochet - then the lady I'm testing the pattern for told me I needed to stop and undo 20 rows because she needed to make changes. Decided to have a soak in the bath and put a face mask on and then undo the crochet and do a bit of reading. I had intended to get an early night and paint early this morning but that didn't happen either. Ah well. I got up and had started painting by half past nine. I did the second satin coat on the doors downstairs and the first coat on the doors upstairs. It took way longer than I thought - over 3 hours. I am crossing fingers that it dries ok without needing a second coat because I'm fed up of that paint now - the emulsion will be a doddle compared to this trauma.
I wasn't allowed to go into school for GCSE results. Good news is that the grades I had submitted were allowed to stand when they were school moderated so I just hope that the kids are as happy as can be under the current, stressful circumstances. It's a strange day that's for sure...
So, dinner is in the oven, the awful smell is back as the paint dries and I just wish the stairs were done and decorated. 16-24 hours for that unfortunately. So, I have 4 things that are little and annoying to do and then I think I will find something else to crochet while I wait for a pattern update. Or put my feet up and read my book - I don't know why I feel as tired as I do today but my mojo has done one...Not giving up

It is a big relief to know that the GCSE pupils got the highest mark, so either your CAG or a higher one. Phew!
