One more lurker delurking to fawn over the beautiful kitten9
-
Ha
I love the fact that everyone is delurking to show love to the new kitty. I had 4 of the old brigade in with me for the whole night last night, and NT2 is inconspicuous in her absence today. I keep joking that she has left home in disgust but I am secretly a bit worried because she is my bestie and not usually very far away from me - I can't find her in the house or sunbathing anywhere outside. Hopefully she'll be back for snuggles soon. Little kitty was yowling very loudly at the door this morning to let me know that he wanted attention having been locked in the sitting room on his own all night on his own. I was good enough for cuddles only until dd got up then he went straight to her and hasn't left her side since then - he even follows her to the toilet.
I've woken up today feeling a bit rough again - I did yesterday too. Just tired, run down and with a fuzzy head. I have no idea why because I'm sleeping better than ever, but I can't shift the headache at all. Trying to be kind to myself - there's still lots to do but it's all slow going at the moment.
Have made a start getting the cladding up in the outhouse - my stepdad came over this morning with the jigsaw to help me. I need to buy a couple more things to finish it off but it's not bad for a case of using up leftover cladding. The stairs still need painting, and the back of the outhouse, and my wardrobe still needs its covering. Feels like these jobs are becoming frogs now but I just can't get going at the moment. It's not the end of the world if I have a couple of days off to relax and get well from whatever is wrong with me though. One day at a time.
Apart from that all I've managed to do today is to get to Scr3wf1x to buy more wall adhesive and drop ds at his friend's house. I have some bags to drop at the cat shelter tomorrow with old bedding and towels in and am hoping I feel a bit more like getting stuff done. There are frogs to deal with. I have to pick ds up later but I've cancelled a walk with my friend because of my head. Think it's going to be a night of relaxation and hoping NT2 stops huffing with me and comes home soon. Maybe I will finally get round to doing some crochet - especially with that crochet square (thank you SGT).

I am having mixed success with the list CCL, I seem to have hurt my back and movement is painful. I have bags every where for the charity shop. Might try and sort some stuff for our local cat place.
Really hope your head improves, I had a migraine all weekend. horrible!
I think you have done loads and loads, quite enough to be having an actual day off (not a really busy day running round)

Hello
Hope all is well. Kitten is settling a bit now and spends less time wanting to spin round like a whirling dervish but still wants to be in human company 24/7. However he's happy to be in the same room and sleep so I can get a few bits done. It took a while again to get going today but I have finally started covering my wardrobes with the dc fix. So far so good, except I broke off a drill bit putting a new handle on the door - which I took as my cue to give up for the evening. I am approximately 20% done in terms of covering the wardrobe. It's not brilliant but it's about a million times better than it was. I'm going to need another roll of the covering I think and it's not long enough to cover my doors in one go so it's a bit patchy but I think only if you're looking close up. I'm a little annoyed as to why I couldn't get a drill through a bit of MDF though - without breaking it. Anyway - Scr3wf1x are my new friend so I will get another, and hopefully the kitten will let me continue working tomorrow as he has done today.
However, my friend who helped with the shelves is coming over for gin tomorrow as well so I may end up getting nothing done. I will certainly not be operating that drill after a couple of gins that's for sure. I feel as though I've lost my mojo a bit because I can't just get up and do stuff with a kitten into absolutely everything. I still need to paint the stairs and hallway, and that should be easy because it's all going to be white. The outhouse is part done, my wardrobes are very small part done and stuff is still just lying about waiting to be done as the frog list gets longer. I have a couple of pictures to hang, and 3 bags of bedding to go for donation to the cat rescue centre. I think I would feel better if I did something, albeit something little, so I will be making the frogs a priority in the morning. Particularly as dd and I are booked for the tip again on Thursday afternoon. Time for another list methinks.
I did get on with a bit of crochet though, for the first time in ages so that's quite nice... except the kitten got into the wool and it took me over 4 hours to get it sorted. So I suppose that's where my time has gone today. I will feel better when I've written my list though I know - always a nice feeling crossing stuff off and seeing exactly what you have managed to do... I have already forgotten that I have done dishes, hoovered through, changed dd's bed and been mam's taxi for both kids. So I have done stuff which I've not counted.
Right - onwards.

Well, well, well. I had completely forgotten and thus underestimated the impact of having a baby anything in the house. I can't get anything much done because there's a little meow and a little body getting under my feet all of the time. However, I had made my list of annoying jobs yesterday and got through a massive 8 small but annoying jobs. Made a start taking more wardrobe doors off but only until my friend arrived at 3pm with gin. So I spent most of the afternoon and evening getting drunk in good company.
Thought I'd done ok with water intake and paracetamol but I woke up with my head banging at about half three. Sneaked downstairs to get more water and paracetamol, but woke the kitten, so I ended up sleeping more on the sofa with him, in between trying to entertain him and rest my head.
Anyway... got up for the day at 9 and my stepdad came round to continue on with the work in the outhouse. I did a run to Scr3wf1x for some sealant and trims, and then packed the car up for the latest tip run. Took loads more garden stuff, a couple of old chairs, stacks of cardboard, the old cat scratching post - feels so good decluttering. Also had 3 bags of towels and bedding which I then dropped into the cat shelter on the way home. DD then convinced me that we needed a quick run to Mr S for her new favourite foodstuffs. Got home and sat down for 5 minutes before the nurse arrived for our latest COVID tests. Apparently we are her easiest family because we're basically not seeing people and are following all of the rules. She says most people think that it's all over now and are happy to be out and about in big groups and are not worried about social distancing - especially the teens and older people. I was surprised because I thought that most people were still doing their best to follow the guidelines - not that I actually have a clue what the guidelines are at the moment. I'm just doing what I would normally do - spending time with my family and inviting close friends to the house. Not going out anywhere and not socialising - and getting my home and family in order.
I think considering that I've been quite hungover today I've been fairly productive. However, I need to sleep well and get rested because I have a reasonably busy day tomorrow. DD is getting her nails done, I need to continue with the house, need to pop to bee and cue to pick up the new lampshades AND a job at the exam board has come up which I really want to apply for, but it's a very long and difficult application form so I need to be fresh for that. I don't think for a second I'll get it, but I'll kick myself if I don't apply. I don't want to mess it up by not being fresh and doing my best - so I need lots of hydration, an early night and a decent sleep. Not giving up

I might kick yourself too if you don't apply!
You get yourself an early, rejuvenating, night's sleep, then do that application form with a clear head. You are surprising yourself daily with what you are achieving. Why should work be any different? What have you got to lose? Plus you sound just like my dh, and he just got his promotion.
