Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath
Comments

It's a job that comes up literally about once every 20 years. I'm by no means the most experienced applicant, but I know I could do it, and do a good job of it, and it's something that I want to do. I just need to learn to sell myself better than I do. Since I last did any job applications I have now been on the recruitment side of things so I've seen it all from the other side now - that should help me in theory.
Just planning and preparing the long answer questions on the application, and will aim to write it up, check and double check and submit over the weekend. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

It is SO uncomfortably warm today. I did sleep well considering how warm it is at the moment but it's not a pleasant warm. It's a grey and muggy, stuffy warm. Me, kids and cats have spent much of the day sitting about and not moving too much because it's just too uncomfortable. Was up and about to feed and entertain the kitten early this morning, then to take dd to her nails appointment. I was supposed to be having my eyes and lip done today but of course they've changed that too, and I wasn't allowed. It was hot in there too, thank god it's our usual place because dd took a bit of a funny turn and ended up lying down on the pavement outside while I ran to the shop to buy her emergency crisps, chocolate and sugar filled drink. That's the second time that she's fainted when it's been really hot. She was fine in about 5 minutes after half a bag of twirl bites, which I had to feed her as she had the nail things on, and a can of sprite which I had to hold at her. She refused to give up on her appointment though and went back in and had her nails finished. Took 3 hours in the end, me fanning her with an eyelash cooler thing. She was mortified. I'm more concerned that this isn't the first time that she's fainted in the heat - it happened at school in her food lesson once. I wonder if it's just the heat, or a combination of her not eating and then getting too hot.
Got home and stepdad and my mam were here (we're not on lockdown - yet!). Mam meeting the kitten and stepdad finishing off the cladding in the outhouse. It just needs sealing and edging now, and that's another job ticked off the list but I feel like a traitor because I wasn't allowed to do any of that in the end. Have added another 4 jobs to annoying jobs list and crossed a couple off by doing a couple of emails I'd been putting off, ordering a little bit of something I didn't want to have to (postage was more than the item) but I can't manage without. Haven't made any further progress with my wardrobe today but I have taken full advantage of the kitten being lethargic in the heat to get my application done. It is done, finished and submitted - I can't change it now. Just hope that I can manage to get an interview out of it. It took me ages - I mean literally hours, and on top of the time at the nail place that was most of my day gone. It's still grey, still too warm, kitten is still just lying about so I am absolutely not starting anything like painting or covering wardrobes now. Will change ds bed then consider sitting reading, followed by an early night. Not giving up

Do you make your furry-lodgers catsicles and let them chase ice cubes? Our boys loved chasing ice cubes. The only problem was when they tried to take them out of the glass you were drinking from
Nothing was safe from those two. I miss my boys.
