Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath

CCL - I have a question for you - or anyone else, if you don't mind me hijacking your diary. My daughter had a kitten about 5 weeks ago which is quite shy around anyone apart from DD (DD lives on her own). She has now had another kitten to keep the first one company but the original kitten is not impressed at all. She only had it Thursday, it's 9 weeks old so 4 weeks younger than the other one but the older one keeps attacking it if they are together. If the younger one is asleep she doesn't seem to mind too much and will lick her but if she's awake she chases her and attacks her. I don't think it's kitten play as she has her ears back and doesn't sheath her claws. The younger one has now gone from wanting to play with her to hissing at her if she goes near her. Any ideas? At the moment the younger one is smaller than her but there's a good chance she will grow bigger than her. It's really upsetting DD as she thinks she's not going to be able to keep both of them. At the moment they're spending most of their time split up with one upstairs and one downstairs. Help!

Hi CCL - I lurk on your diary which provides me with daily reassurances. Had to delurk on the cream BSH kitten post having had one many moons ago called Teddy. So excited for you and hope the price is right. Pedigree kittens on average cost around £600-£700 from reputable breeders - just to give you an idea. X

I know he's American but I don't hold that against Jackson Galaxy at all

. If you've ever seen My Cat From Hell then you will know that he's somewhat of a miracle worker.
I would agree with every bit of advice in this video - it takes ages to introduce cats to each other and the fact that they're in separate rooms at the moment is not a big deal (or a bit of hissing) - it's if they start peeing and spraying all over then harder work is needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsYT7yIOdqQ
