Morning MSE'rs!
I have woken today in a brighter mood than the last few days, I even got up with enough time to put the washing machine on a delay timer and relax for a bit before leaving for work, whereas the last few days it's been crawling out at the last possible minute. I did have a nightmare last night that my car needed more work but I think that's totally understandable and it feels perfect now
I'm going to empty out the boot of my car and sort it on my lunch hour today as I don't think I am actually needed for much as it stands, and I can use our cordless hoover to vacuum it, too, so will keep myself busy with that to help the time pass more quickly.
I have somewhat abandoned YNAB for the time being this month, I will get back round to it when my second wages come in next week, I just can't be bothered right now to sit down and work the ins and outs of it out, so will just do what I need to do when I get paid next week, and then start from next month with a more clear cut budget
I finally feel in a good, positive place which is a far cry from the past few days!2 -
What a shame about the car
Glad you are feeling more positive, have a good day"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney2 -

Right, as I am in a more motivated mood, I am preparing myself a to-do list for this afternoon/this evening:
- Clear out and hoover my car on my lunch break
- Finally put some drain unblocker in the shower/bath
- Get a proper lunch ready for tomorrow
- Tint my eyebrows
- Do a face mask
- Go for a walk with OH to get our daily exercise
I am waiting for a Beauty Pie parcel (one of my treats before it all went wrong) which has an eye cream in it and a five-minute facial product, so hoping that turns up this week at some point. I need to be diligent with the daily things I have let sleep e.g. skincare, it's starting to show.
Trying to do a few hours of SE work per day, but there's not so much pressure whilst I'm also doing cleaning at work as it means my usual salary will be a bit higher, too.
I do need to try and get some done at the weekend though, weekends have been idled away of late and they should be a bit more productive than they currently are2 -
Sounds like a better day. Good to have some self-care to look forward too as well.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hey hey!
Ticked all off of my to-do list bar the drain cleaner as I forgot.
Tonight's self-care will include:
- A DIY manicure
- A DIY pedicure
- Applying moisturiser all over as my skin is getting dry
Over the weekend I will do a hair mask and another face mask.
I have a little noise coming from my car that has been there for a few days, but I have been doing my research and have a long list of easy checks to work through before I even think about taking it to the garage, doesn't sound suspension related so should be something relatively simple and DIY-able
We went for an hour long walk last night, didn't mean to, it just ended up taking us an hour but only felt like 20 minutes! I love these kind of evenings where it is still warm enough to walk round without a coat on.
I think the sunshine is probably helping my mood, and also my dosage of my prescription went up a few days ago, so it could be any number of things but I am feeling very positive and motivated
Hope everyone is staying safe. X

Glad to read that you are feeling better, last few days sound like they have been quite crazy and tough. The sunshine always helps the mood though. Enjoy the DIY care things you have plannedDays to Orlando: 462- ☀️🎢2

Thanks both
Have narrowed down the list of possible causes for the noise, one seems extremely likely as it's listed as a "common problem" for my car on the relevant forums, and can be solved with WD40, so here is hopingwe also have some kicking around at work so will go out shortly and spray it all so it's done for when I drive home and I can tell if it has worked. I also ordered a new string (?) for my parcel shelf as I only have one and it's bugged me for a while, but kept forgetting to search for one online. Good old eBay!
All of my shopping for other houses is done now until Tuesday next week as I am doing shorter shifts on the bank holidays. I am going to try and pick up a prescription for my nan and grandad on Monday, though.
The shorter shift tomorrow means I get a lie-in, no 6am alarm for this woman! Happy days
