Happy Monday everyone! Half day again for me today, though I do wish the weather was on par with Friday!
Done some quotes for my car insurance, and actually they all about match with my renewal quote from my current insurer. As mentioned I'll have to pay monthly for another year thanks to the stupid car bills, so the other upside to sticking with my current insurer is no initial payment/deposit.
I have started this week with all of my uniform ironed (hasn't happened for the past 2 weeks), my tan done (at long last) and my nails and toenails painted, and I took the time to get up and do my hair nicely. I have decided to stop being miserable when I look in the mirror and take some action. I literally have all of the tools at home to achieve weight loss, better skin, etc it's just making myself do it! Just need to do it for however long it takes to form a new habit then I'll be sorted
Got leftover chilli for lunch today, then need to pick up my grandparent's prescriptions, then a bit more work then it'll be time to head home again! Not much planned for this evening other than clearing out a cupboard to become the "cat cupboard" e.g. food, litter, etc. We were doing a big shop on Saturday anyway so picked up enough food to tide the fluff ball over for a bit3 -
Morning everyone! Day one of my attempted new leaf, and trying to duck and dodge the curveballs life is already throwing at me. My SE wages look to be late, which is fine as long as they do come in before some bills need to go out, so that's in the back of my mind but trying to be optimistic.
Today I have:
- brought lunch
- done my makeup properly
- done my hair properly
- used the mouthwash I'm supposed to be using for my gums
- weighed myself
These are all small things, but small things I have neglected that have all had a knock-on effect in one way or another. I have been religious for the past week or so about doing my skincare routine morning and night, and thankfully starting to see the results from that, so I am getting there slowly. It's a screenshot my sister took during a group video call that made me realise how much I've been lazy with my appearance lately.
I'm using the reminders app on my phone every time I think of something I need to do, or should do, and that's been helpful so far in keeping on top of things, even things as simple as getting my lunch ready the night before.
I went through my wardrobe (again) over the weekend and took out anything I don't wear, and also organised it because I'm sadbut I was tired of trying to find my nice tops amidst a sea of gym clothes, work shirts amongst my dresses, etc.
Today will be taking the scraps of SE work I can get, and also keeping an eye on prolific etc, it would be nice to get enough next month that I can finish repaying OH but still have some of the cash for myself, too

Agreed holmes by the time I got home it was lovely and warm, just the mornings that are a bit chillier where I am.
Should get paid today, so pleased the delay was only small as issues for other people before have taken several weeks, so a good outcome in that respect. Need to set aside some money for the rest of the monthly bills, and repay OH as much as I can. He did say I can keep a small amount aside as a little spending money.
Felt very sluggish this morning and had to force myself out of bed, but still got up with time to make myself look properly presentable and have a little tidy up.
Not much else to report so far, my TCB claim for our new broadband is currently "Waiting for Retailer" so hopefully something comes of that soon, £130 would be lovely in repaying OH that little bit quicker.
I am pleased to have survived this month without emptying out my VSP, obviously that's down to OH but good to have that little buffer there still.
Not much else to report for now, time to earn some pennies! X2 -
Just checking in to say OH has now been 50% repaid, some more will go when I get paid from FT job, then the rest repaid from my next SE wages.
Did 30DS Take 3 Day 1 last night, my body has kept some of it's stamina as I wasn't completely dying, day 2 as soon as I get home tonight.
Broadband, Sky TV and two weeks of grocery shopping/fuel still to go out this month, but budget looks healthy enough!
Really need to crack on with SE work at home in the evenings, it's just so nice to sit and spend time with OH, thought the novelty would have worn off by now and I'd be itching to do some workbut apparently not

Howdy! It's almost Friday
Ran errands today on my lunch break to get bits for the various households that I can't get in the supermarkets, and will deliver those on the way home later on. Other than that, a relatively slow-paced day, and I am looking forward to eventually going home.
Take 3 Day 2 of 30DS was completed yesterday, onto day three when I get home tonight. I did make the mistake of working out in the kitchen with the door closed and underestimating how warm the slow cooker would make the kitchenwe also went for a walk in the evening so I am trying to step up my activity levels and hit at least 10,000 steps per day.
1 week today we bring home the furbaby, two weeks today until payday from my FT wages.
Not much else to report, this is the slog now to the end of the month where the last few things trickle out via DD's and such like, and it'll be much the same for the next month as all my money in will go out to OHx

Glad that you are keeping fit and active and that you have money coming in. Good that the garage offered some compensation.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

50% paid back to OH already is a great result!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1

Thank you both
Jwil, I was thinking last night that a year or so ago I'd be making pitiful payments monthly to him, this time next month it should be repaid, how times change!
It is FINALLY Friday. Plus, next week is a 3-day week as I have booked Thursday & Friday as annual leave.
Caught up with my dad last night via video chat on our Amazon devices, he is going to see if OH and I can take part in the quiz his friends are doing via Zoom on Saturday, sounds like it will be fun
One thing I do need to order/buy when everything is back to normal is new work clothes, I am slowly wearing holes in the elbows of my blazer and trousers just start to look old after a while
Although, I have applied for a very interesting job today, WFH, less hours than I do currently, better salary and I would still be able to fit my SE work into my working day, too. Its the first job in ages I've applied for that I've been very excited about whilst applying, so we shall see! Cross everything guys and girls
Going to do a second attempt on OH's hair over the weekend, with different clippers and I ordered some hairdressing scissors that arrived yesterday, so we shall see how that goes
