More/new car gremlins today....
Suspect I will be contacting the dealer for evidence of a full service before purchase (if that even exists) at some point...
That is all for now whilst I try and scramble my budget around!2 -
Sorry you are having problems with the car. Rude of the bank too - but I bet they are just scared and annoyed they can't stay home. Kitten sounds fun.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

OUCH! to the car repairs, it is really positive and reward for the hard work you have done that you have not had to get into debt for the work to be done, but still must be a pain. Good that you were able to get it done and feel safer though. It sounds like you are not having much luck with the car
......YAY to the cute new kitten though!

Car is the garage as we speak, looking at another £100-£200 for the likely fault, can barely scrape this with emptying my sealed pot as well and juggling things around, officially moved to town brassic for the month, population ME
I have to laugh or I'll cry lol.
I'll probably drop it in for a full service when I get my SE wages in the middle of next month, then hopefully it shouldn't need to visit the garage until MOT time! Stressful times indeed.
Yeah I really can't wait to bring the little guy home, just over 2 weeks
Not much else to report, hoping that the universe starts to be a little kinder to me at some point, but grateful as always for OH who took me shopping for my Nan after work, and took me to work this morning so that I could drop the car into the garage. He's a good'un x2 -

£500 bill to collect the car later, two issues arose.
Bank of OH to the rescue again, total will be paid back to him across the next 6 weeks or so. This really, really needs to be the last time I need to visit the garage, universe, cut me some slack! Going to gather all of my repair receipts when I get home tonight and attach them to a complain email to the dealer who sold me the car. 5 months I have had it, and it will have cost me over £1500 in repairs so far. I know I've lost my right to tell them to take it back as I've had the work done elsewhere, but I am hoping for some sort of goodwill gesture from them when faced with the bills I have had to pay to keep the car safe.
If I can run it for a few years with no further massive expenses and can do small bits and pieces myself from the manual I bought, then over the life of the car in my ownership it won't be the worst thing in the world, just unfortunate so much has happened at the same time. Still, silver lining, no debt to anyone other than OH, these are common faults that would have happened at some point or another, and I've got them sorted at a garage I know I can trust.
Still, I am sulking a tad.3 -
