Hey,
Well done on building up those savings 😃, its amazing how much they add when you aren't really having to dip into them for everything that pops up!. Good luck getting wheel sorted hopefully that is enough car gremlins to pass you for a year hahaha. Hope you have a fab weekend and hopefully you get some of that scary looking fake tan on....don't be scaring the neighbours! 🤣🤣 xDays to Orlando: 462- ☀️🎢3 -

Went to the bank to pay in the cash my nan gave me for her shopping, and got stopped for a full on lecture about I should only be going to the bank when absolutely necessary not "just to pay in money." I lost my temper, absolutely and pointed out the fact that I have been shopping for two vulnerable households, one of whom only HAS cash to give me, and that with the amount of shops not taking cash now, I needed to pay in the cash to be able to comfortably do my OWN food shopping. It bothered me probably more than it should have but I did not need to stand there and be lectured like a five year old about what was essential travel and what was not. Oh, and I think the phrase "consider others" was used, that's ALL I have been doing for the past 2 weeks.
Anyway, rant over, I got it paid in and posted the Calpol off to my sister, then came back to work. I suspect I may be adding wine to our food shopping tonight.
I do also hope that's the end of my car gremlins, hopefully the brakes are something straightforward to sort and won't add too much onto the bill, but equally I do know that the EF is there to dip into if needs be, and then I can top it back up when I get my mid-month wages. Not looking forward to the early start getting there tomorrow, but I won't need to go anywhere again for the rest of the weekend once I'm home!
I shouldn't have come on here to rant about the bank, it's made my blood boil all over again
And breeeeeeeathe..........

Good on you for standing your ground, its really difficult but people need to stop jumping at people. If its clear people are out with no reason fair enough but some of us are out coz we have no choice people who are vulnerable rely on us to get the things they need. The bank were well out of order, hope you have a good weekendDays to Orlando: 462- ☀️🎢3

Ooh I feel mad with your bank on your behalf, how rude! 😠
Hope all goes well with the car repairs 🤞 Take care x3 -
Well, I got my car home after £850 of repairs
the brake issue was my ABS unit failing it was only working on one side and was locking half my wheels up as soon as I was braking
so, OUCH, but it was good I took it straight in, was a very dangerous fault. It does mean I probably won’t be paying my car insurance up front, as I need to pay back OH for that costs as I soooo didn’t have that factored into my budget
oh well, maybe next year. Better to have a safe car insured on a monthly payment than a death trap car!
I did end up buying the online Haynes manual so that going forwards I can do smaller bits and pieces myself. Fair play to my garage though they did my wheel change FOC and did a couple of quick bits on OH’s car FOC also.In other news, we are getting a cat! OH has been thinking about it for a while so one the 23rd he will be bringing home our new kitten. The woman has some fab ways to make it all contact free and has been really good with us so far. I’m actually quite excited as I haven’t had a pet since I was a kid. Ultimately we will get a dog one day but OH is obviously only temporarily not at work, so we need to wait until our lives would accommodate the needs of a dog better.Hope you’re all enjoying the sunshine, we’ve had some time in the garden today and I’ve done all the washing and had it outside to dry. Yesterday we washed our cars in the sunshine, then had a few drinks at home in the evening2 -
Morning all
I have withdrawn the £50 from my EF to go towards repaying OH (after all, that's what an EF is for, emergencies!) but I am leaving the VSP as it is for now. Things should still just about balance across the month, albeit all of my second wages will go towards repaying OH and not my insurance/savings/car finance, but the fab news is that I had an £850 expense and I will NOT be going into debt over itnext month also marks the month I start my planned savings into all of my pots for things going forwards, so need to sit down and make sure all of my pots in Monzo are set up correctly.
That's all to post for now, I am going to catch up on diaries and then dive straight into work to make some extra pennies!3 -
Ouch to the car bill but at least it's safe now and you don't have to go into debt over it
Yay to the kitten, how exciting!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1 -

I can't wait to bring him home, I think I will look to book the day off of work so that I can go and bring him home, too, then spend the day with him whilst he explores the house!2
