Hi all
After a lazy few hours at home, I'm trying to get my bottom in gear and do some decluttering/organizing. I've got so many bits in so many bags that it's no wonder I cant find things sometimes, so it's well overdue to sort it all out.
We did food shopping last night, didn't want to end up getting stressed by trying to think up alternatives if I couldn't buy stuff, so we went together. Thankfully we managed to get all of our basics
Truly could not believe all of the empty shelves in Aldi and Mr S last night, though. I had to get basically on the floor to get one of the last few bottles of squash for the kids, it was crazy.
Right, I'll come back on later hopefully having accomplished lots of tidying & sorting2 -
Mission accomplished
all bags have been sorted through and organised, I had bought four fabric storage boxes (the kind that are designed to go into cube storage units) which fit perfectly on the top shelf of the wardrobe and now neatly hold the stuff that was just shoved on the shelf before. The kitchen has been cleaned down, all washing done and drying, and just mopped the kitchen floor. Pants and socks have been sorted, but the ironing will get done tomorrow. Now it’s time to get changed and do Shred Take 2/Day 5 and then i plan to resume the aforementioned laziness
I have also had a good shredding (paper) session, so there is less of that laying around, too.The upside of my hair appointment being today is that I can keep my blood donation appointment next week provided nothing changes between now and then - they did email last week and say as long as you feel healthy then please do still attend. It will be interesting to see how many people do. I have O- so i always try and keep my appointments
Right, I should get up & get my exercise done, it’s getting to the point where I am just posting to put off exercising2 -

Thank you both
Happy Monday, guys and girls!
The news is getting more and more dire by the day, fortunately (and also unfortunately) I work in a role where I can't work from home so no chance of me being told to stay home during the coming months unless I contract the virus myself. This will be good for the bank account, but I think I'll get more and more nervous about the contact I have to have with people as more and more people get told to stay home. So much respect for all of the workers going in every day and treating the people who have contracted the virus/more vulnerable people. I told my nan yesterday in the event they do tell all over 70s to stay home she is absolutely to tell me or my brother if they need things and we will go and get them. My grandad has several underlying health conditions so they need to be safe. She was very grateful.
Honestly, I'd be stuffed if I had to rely on SSP, the weekly rate is just over a day's wages for me.
OH works in a sector where probably 90% of their customers are the over 70s and he is not expecting business to stay open once they are told to self-isolate, but at least he is salaried so won't lose out on any money (hopefully).
We've also decided to change energy supplier and I'm going to take it on in my name, as I am the one who does all of the meter readings and stuff anyway and has more free time to contact companies when there are problems, whereas OH just tends to let things slide as he doesn't have the time to get on the phone and sort things out.
Need to chase up a payment that got taken today for something I've cancelled, and do my shred, but other than that, the to-do list is relatively small2 -

OH was expecting an announcement from his bosses last night that didn't come, so has gone in to work today and I expect they will find out today what the plan is. I have said if the absolute worst happened then because I do my FT job and the SE work, we could get by just about until it passed. Really hammers in the need for a solid emergency fund, though, doesn't it?
