Thanks for all the encouraging posts
It looks like this Saturday will be a repeat of last week as we are fully booked. This time with 9 viewings so we will be starting at 9am instead of 10am. The EA is phoning this afternoon to discuss the interest from last week. It is all good although I find all the strangers drifting in and out a bit unbalancing, but it is necessary if I am to move on.
Yesterday I booked to go off to the area I might live in next. I go in a few days. A day trip. I’ve arranged to see 2 houses when I am there. I discovered someone I know lives 20 minutes away and a friend I used to work with lives 20 minutes away in the other direction. It feels better to think, if I live there, there are a few people I can meet up for coffee with.
I’m feeling a bit washed out and slept poorly, a bit nauseous too, but I need to get back on track as I have lots to do before the weekend. The problem is the heat so I can’t go out. There are things I need to get in. It involves a trip to the Swedish store, BnQ, the bathroom shop and Lino place. The plan is to head off to the Swedish store and BnQ at 6pm
I’ve booked a swimming session tomorrow. It will be good to get back to exercise.
I have the handyman coming to do a day’s work on Friday. He will put on a door handle, remove a light fitting, put up shelves and put up the bathroom cabinet and mirror.
Wishing you all a good day out there

Wow! Things are moving fast now .
Looking at two houses as well. A bold move , but handy that you have people nearby.
it may be an idea to bend their ears , regarding the area you are choosing .🦶
Good luck with the handyman . If you get good vibes, he may even know someone who could do the fascias .You're obviously going to feel run down in your present situation , and are probably running on adrenaline more often than not at the moment . That's all part of it , and it's probably only for the time being .Hang in there , and all will be well .
Enjoy the sunshine ☀️🌵🌵6 -
Thanks AC
Yes starting to look at houses to get a feel of what I want. I have a good contact with a local EA there. A really nice woman.
I have already spoken to my friend who lives nearby and she thinks the area is lovely and will suit me. I've been there off and on for 20 years or so. Over the Winter barring lockdown I will go and stay in a BnB for a few nights. But I can only do so much research. It's a risk, but so is life. It isn't irreversible. The prices are pretty much the same as where I live so if it is a complete disaster I can always move back!
I checked with the handyman and he doesn't know anyone for the fascias, so that search continues...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

9 viewings sounds really promising. Like the idea of moving to somewhere where you already know you love it and have friends nearby.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sounds like things will fit just right in your new area DIA 😼
Life is indeed a risk , and imho things have been rapidly changing where if you are in position to change things around for the better then do it now . Well, it took me long enough . 😸 .If you get offers before getting the fascias sorted , then that may not be a bad thing .
Keep plodding , and enjoy the sunshine ☀️🌵🌵5 -
Well I've just had some news. I've had 5 offers for my house.
They all came from one day! The lowest was £30,000 below the stated price and the highest was £25,000 above the stated price. All the others have been declined by the EA and invited to increase their offer if they so wish. The highest offer is providing proof of funds. I know it is early days and anything can change, especially after surveyor's reports for example, but I am chuffed that so many people liked my house enough to make offers. I still have another morning of viewings booked for Saturday.
