Hi there DIA.
Glad you are back. Only noticed when reading another post and thought I recognised that name!!!
Glad your relative is ok now. Heart surgery is now routine, but doesn't mean it isn't still nerve wracking for everyone involved.
Wow what progress you are making. If it's meant to be then it will all fall into place. I had a friend who would talk about moving for years, then suddenly it happened and she now lives in a lovely house with her partner. It has a wood at the end of the garden and is just perfect.
Well what a strange world! Back to usual hours now again in my main job. First time off in a few weeks. Other job is totally home based with Zoom groups and telephone contact. Got a bit fed up the other week. Like to interact with people and miss the human touch. Back on track again and feeling more positive.
Am so pleased for you and your progress. You are flying.
All the best

Thanks everyone
Sorry you are missing the human touch @Mrs_Boo_Boo and hope your main job is enjoyable this week.My relative has been taken back in again. I feel so sad for her. I’m glad we had last week together and despite everything we had a good time.
Getting the office done has given me more space in the dining room! It should be easier to keep it tidy now. All my work books have been moved out and my vintage typewriter is in the study too. I’d like a shelf in the office too, but that can wait. I decluttered some drawers and now they are in the office.
Yesterday was all about the front of the house. I cycled over to the garden centre to get some plants. Cycled back draped in plants. Then weeding and planting up. It looks much better.
Today I will be painting the doorframe. I already have undercoat finished. Then I will be getting the steamer out to clean my skirting boards.
I have stuff to return to the shops later (a radio and a lamp, neither quite right for the office).
Popping into the CS as I need 2 dining chairs for inside and a small table for the garden where I can have my morning coffee in future…
A meeting I’ve been dreading is late this morning.
I’ve slacked off on MSE actions, so today I will be transferring some funds to my PB account.
So, that is me for today.
Happy start to the week

Sorry about your relative - it's good you were able to spend some more time with them first.
Well done on tackling all the jobs - quite a picture of you cartoon style on a bike festooned with plants.

Sorry I've been awol from your diary for a while DIA. I think it's a good idea to sell your house as it is. I hope you manage to move to your ideal area soon. Plants at the front are an excellent idea as they always look welcoming

Thanks everyone for all your kind posts
I am back to waking up early after a few weeks of training myself to go to bed earlier. I feel better for it.
Yesterday two people on the street knocked on my door to ask if I was planning to move. My 'secret' is out! One neighbour bought his chihuahua who left paw prints in the paint of my doorstep! Luckily, it needed a new coat anyway. (Will do that today.)
My bedroom was painted yesterday and some wall cracks repaired. It looks lovely.
The bathroom walls have been prepped and the plan is for me to paint them myself. It won't be ready for the photographs but should be ready for the first visitors at the weekend.
I cleaned windows yesterday, cleaned the kitchen, painted the doorframe and gardened. I went to the furniture CS for a few chairs and an outside table but no can do. Today, more cleaning, painting and gardening.
I still need to buy a bath panel and some lino for the floor.
I still need a plumber and someone to do the fascias. I'm going to ask the EA if they know any plumbers/roofers, as they are also a letting agent.
I will miss my decorator. She has been here for 2 weeks. We both worked hard on the house all day and stopped for a sit-down lunch. She suggested we meet for coffee and that will be lovely.
I have the energy certificate person coming this morning and the photographer this afternoon.
I am spending lots of money on the house and that makes me nervous as my funds are getting low. After the photographer has gone I will spend some time looking at where I can make some savings.
Off to start the day.
Wishing you all a positive day
