Thank you for all the lovely posts
I am back and changes are afoot.
My beautiful relative is having another operation today. Her heart might go into cardiac arrest so she is not having a full anaesthetic. Brave girl. We spoke before her op and she sounds strong. I am much calmer with her situation now. I just concentrate on the now.
I have finally adjusted my thinking and rather than battle with trying to find tradespeople and the constant stress that involves I have decided to try and go now with the house just as it is. I have been speaking to EAs and yesterday was my first valuation. Good news! I have another EA coming today. Even with a lower valuation due to the work required I still have enough to fund my next move.
I already committed to having the room I go on about but have not done decorated. The hallway will be done too. Even if/when I sell I need the house to work for me whilst I am in it. Selling can be a long business. The decorating starts next week and I have my lovely lady decorator who I feel comfortable with (looking forward to her being here actually)
I have been doing day trips to some areas I might want to live in. My next move won’t just be a new home. I want a lifestyle change.
Off to tidy up for the EA visit.
Hope all of you are ok out there (I will check in with your diaries tonight)

Lovely to hear from you, and sending thoughts to your relative. X
Sounds as though you have a plan to move forward, which is brilliant news. I think it's a good idea to sell the house as is, because loads of people want to do their own thing anyway and would want to replace what you've just put in! (where is the blue 'eek' when you want it!) X

Thanks for all the welcoming posts and good wishes
My relative came through her operation fine. A relief.
The second EA valued the same as the first. I have a third due on Friday but I've pretty much made up my mind.
The house is tidy. It took me 5 days straight to get it to this level. Waking up in it feels really good. Yesterday I gardened. I need to keep this up as the photos get done next week.
Today is a treat day for me. I am factoring these in if I have a difficult day to deal with. So, a pedicure in the morning then a gallery and lunch (on a terrace) with a friend in the afternoon. My first proper social day since lockdown.
My decorator is also a beautician. So, today she paints my toes and next week she will paint the walls! She will also loan me her wallpaper stripper so I can strip the small room to keep the price down.
Have a lovely day everyoneIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
