A headache from yesterday is still here this morning. I don't usually take tablets but I have today so hopefully that's the end of it.
What I realised in the early hours is I've been using the 'I need a study in order to work' as an excuse not to work. So the new plan is to move the desk into another room. I've done that and will work in there. It looks silly but the thing is we're in lockdown so no-one is coming, only I will see the room.
I will do the study at my own pace starting with sorting out the steamer with a missing part. I'm even wondering if I can use my Ka3cher steam cleaner somehow to help shift the wallpaper? I will need white spirit and a brush but the hardware shop isn't in lockdown so I can get those.
The point is I need to work and now I am all set up to do it. Off to bite the bullet and buy the headphones. Then I have no more excuses as neither the squirrels visits or the neighbour's building works will be able to stop me working.

Stand back for a minute DIA 😸 or hold your 🐎🐎( probably cheeky to say so but hear me out 😹) ..
you are not using anything as an excuse . Far from it. In fact I think you've been doing loads and it all seems to be coming together in a good way , and so it should . That's only imho though ..
Sorry about to hear about the headache etc but that may be a sign of you doing a little too much . Not a lot . It could be a change of weather or who knows , just an off day. It won't last anyway .Not sure what the white spirit is for. If it's to do with moving the wallpaper , the steamer and scraper should do it .The karcher steam cleaner should do it .Have a good day 😼..6 -
Thanks AC and not cheeky at all
Glad you think the steam cleaner will be enough to get the job done. I'll try that.
Taking it easy today due to my headache, but might garden potter and move furniture, dust and hoover. Will definitely be watching some vintage C0lumb0. I seem to enjoy them even if I've seen them before!
The brush and white spirit are for the next stage. I thought white spirit cleaned brushes and spills? Also pollyfilla for holes and sanding paper to smooth the walls. That said I've NEVER done it, just what I observed really.
Have a good day yourself AC.

Thanks @another_casualty
good to know I am on the right path with my DIY intentions.
@Seasidegal58 Thank youHeadache gone. Sometimes paracetamol is all that is needed but I am always reticent about taking medication and I shouldn't be.
Progress. The work station has been set up. Tomorrow will be a work day. I'm actually looking forward to it. Time to get into a routine/rhythm. I'm really keen that when this is all over I will have something to show for it.
It took me ages to actually make the purchase. Done it now.
No exercise taken so will make up for it tomorrow.
Today feels like a step forward.

I think the headphones are a good buy DIA 🙂. As someone who has previously worked at home for fifteen years, anything that helps you to focus on your work is money well spent.
Yes everything you've said about decorating sounds absolutely fine, so hopefully it will all go according to plan. Scraping wallpaper is my most hated job but I'm sure steam will make it easier. Scraping chip paper is the worst. I do think chip paper is the invention of the devil 🤔 .Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
