Yes - glad to see things are moving forward - some faster and some slower - but getting there bit by bit.
Are you able to take advantage of any of the government schemes - I read that nearly 1 million people applied for UC over the last few weeks, and the self employed and business schemes were nearly in place and would be backdated. Sorry if this doesn't help but there is a lot of change now that we appear to have a more socialist government in place
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Hi there DIY.
Glad to catch up on things.
Annoyingly, every time I log in my password is not recognised. Real faff so haven't been on here very much. Perhaps best to stay logged in at the moment.
Well so much has happened in such a short time. Try not to think about it too much. On the plus side am really enjoying not having any pressures to go anywhere and stay at home to tackle jobs that I never get round to. Also very MSE as not able to spend much, apart from shopping. Hubbie is self employed and his clients are mainly self isolating plus a lot of builders merchants are closed. He is painting the house and windows whilst the weather is ok.
Back at work and things are changing daily. Start a 7 day rota next week.
At least we can support each other and keep in touch.
Take care everyone

@mark88man Thanks for your comment. I'm not too sure things are moving really. Feels like I'm plodding but that's okay for now. Re government support I'm giving it a go, will see what happens.
@Mrs_Boo_Boo Good to 'see' you and hear your latest news. Lovely that your hubby is painting the walls and windows. Enjoy your evening
Today I actually set up the wallpaper stripper only to find a missing piece. Grrrrhh. Will try to get a replacement on Monday although not sure, as it is hardly essential food, so probably not. I can still paint the ceiling as I have the roller and paint. Will do that tomorrow. Gardening ongoing.
A lovely international call. An hour and a half! We both agreed a new form of communication that will require me getting a smart phone. I am being dragged into the 21st century!!
A long (for me) cycle ride that includes a hill that even a week ago I had to dismount and push was cycled up. Fitness increases so quickly. I've only been cycling a few weeks. (Although still far from fit)
My dilemma is whether to get some noise cancelling headphones. I can't really afford them but need them for my future sanity. Part of me thinks this is no time for expensive purchases especially when my food/household costs are quite high.
It's sunny and lovely here. Free feel good rays. I'll concentrate on those. Or as AC often says: I'll leave it thereIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

You're still doing it DIA 😼
The only 2 things I would mention , right or wrong :
I'd get the noise cancelling headphones . They don't have to be Bose . Richer sounds sent me an email regarding a headphone sale . They do B&W noise cancelling which are probably cheaper. B& W make amazing loudspeakers . Worth browsing . I say this because your neighbours are undesirable .As for smartphone : you probably know anyway , but check the roaming menu you sign up to if making international calls on a regular basis .I'll leave it there 😸enjoy the rest of the weekend ..5 -
Well done on the long cycle ride and getting fitter 🚴♀️. It can happen quite quickly I think and is always quicker than losing weight in my experience

Glad you were able to catch up with a friend. Good that your cycling is improving. I know I am supposed to say don't get the headphones - but I probably would while they are still delivering less essential itemsAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

@another_casualty I am going to go for Bose because they have such good reviews and a friend said they are non sweaty after wearing for hours. The plan is to buy them and do a crazily frugal rest of the month. My phone can wait but I've a feeling the headphones shouldn't...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
