Maybe half-heartedly look over the next few months, only visit if something jumps out at you and hopefully things will calm soon. Winter is coming and not many people buy on the run up to Christmas, that could be your time.

Thanks @markman55 you are right I will be keeping on doing what I am doing. Houses are appearing reduced so the silly prices are starting to ease off. 

Thanks @another_casualty treating the house hunting as a day away is the way forward. I have to say I much prefer it when a friend comes…

Thanks @beanielou and @savingholmes it is indeed emotionally draining and frustrating! But onwards I go.

B and B doesn’t work as that increases the cost overall. I need to visit whenever properties turn up and in this market they are coming in dribs and drabs mainly. I will just factor in the cost of regular trips. 

My approach to finding a new home is to keep looking. I won’t compromise on the things I need but looking in more than one area is helping. It is demoralising when an offer isn’t accepted but I have a home. I may have issues here but I remain thankful and optimistic. I have another house to visit. It is perfect in location, layout and the garden is beautiful, but it needs work. I am going to price the work and offer accordingly. I’m not over invested emotionally this time so if I don’t get it that’s ok something else will turn up. 

A busy few days crammed with appointments. It hasn’t felt my time has been my own but on Sunday I managed to visit an art exhibition. It was fabulous. A real treat and my first exhibition since the last lockdown.

I’ve been quite good at getting things done over the past few days: 

FROGS

fixed my voicemail

fixed the boiler (using a utube video) I amazed myself!

sorted out 2 major bank issues

Today should have been waiting in for the boiler man but fixing it myself has given me a free day so I will go to the laundry.

Amazing how you tube can help out fixing things I have had a few successes using it. Good to hear you did something for you going to the gallery . 

When did your retreat get postponed to ?

Thanks @Sunshine_girl2 I am still happy from fixing the boiler by myself! 
My retreat reopen in September. I haven't been given a date but I'm hoping for sometime in the autumn. I've been told I will be in the first batch of fellows.

Up early today as yesterday was awful so I went to bed early. Long story short? My relative has gone into the hospice for a few weeks to get pain relief under control. I have my first counselling session next week from the hospice so hoping that will help as we are all getting irritated and angry with one another. I feel better after a good night's sleep.

I am off house hunting today and I'm just sorting some tasty food. Last time I spent £27 on snacks, lunch and drinks.    Packing a flask of coffee too. I've decided I will treat myself to tea and cake (got to have some treats) but take all other food and drink.

I'm going to do some life planning, lists etc on the train

My house hunting went well. A gorgeous house that will need work (bathroom, kitchen, flooring and wood burning stove) and that is just for starters.

The garden is beyond beautiful and despite the work it would be worth it for such a lovely home. It is beautifully positioned. The bathroom must be accessed through one of the bedrooms. So it is far from perfect. I haven't let my heart run away with me so I offered below asking. I can move a little but then no more, not because I can't afford it but because it isn't worth more with all that work, to me. 

The EA was next to useless and couldn't answer any questions so I took a chance and knocked next door. I explained I was a stranger but wanted to ask about the house next door. She invited me in and we had a chat! A really lovely woman! Her garden was stunning. If I did get the house she would be such a nice neighbour. 

Offer in so we will see. But a nice day and if not this house there will be others. 
The market is becoming a bit more sensible. There are houses being reduced and EAs are calling me again. I also think prices have dropped a little when they appear.
