I have been a bit fed up as I saw a house I wanted and put in an offer. Declined. So I upped my offer by 25k and left it on the table. I am still short by 25k of what they want. I'm getting tired of house hunting. I keep emotionally investing in houses I do not get and it is draining! It is also expensive as each time the train ticket is £25-£30...and yes have railcard, do off-peak...
Budget wise? My train ticket feels like a different sort of spending so I used my debit card for that. Otherwise my budget lasted until today. I went to the shops (cycled) and bought some shopping that came to £34.55. I think my weekly budget is too small! I'm going to a BBQ this afternoon and will need to take wine so that's my budget blown before the week begins. I feel a rethink coming up.
A weird day: rain and sunshine.
I hope the sun shines on you wherever you are

I'm hoping that with the stamp duty rush over the market might calm down a little, to give you a bit of a better chance.
In the meantime all you can do is what you are doing, keep trying and something will come up. Maybe look to find a cheap B&B in the area and plan lots of visits over a small number of days solid in the area rather than spending £25 and your time on trains.
Fingers crossed for youI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Sorry that the house hunting is getting you down DIA .
The housing situation does seem mental , it has to be said . It seems like some sort of Mafia effect going on at the moment where buyers are expected to know that their bids are flatly rejected before even looking at a property . Not sure if I read correctly on one of the other boards , about second viewings not allowed . I stand to be corrected , but that seems ludicrous if true .It's enough to make anyone ratty 🐀🐀
Dont forget , you're still going to be tired mentally as well as physically with what's going on.Regarding the travelling ..hopefully you can bring friend along and treat it as more of a day out and you could have coffee etc ☕️Hope the BBQ is good .Weather here is cloudy, but worse days are mon/ Tuesday
I'll leave it there 🌧6 -
