Thanks @MovingForwards. Good point about building strength by carrying the bike
HOUSE
My head has been full of numbers. Lots of adding up figures then starting again. This morning I visited the BS but there was a queue. I took some info and need to go back when they are less busy.
I made a decision to access some funds I need to give notice on. I made the FROGGY call. I had hoped to keep this pot for a few more years, but this way I reduce the sum I need to borrow towards the house.
I called to book the viewing of 2 overpriced properties. Both were viewable midweek when I requested (no block viewings) a good sign that they are not flooded with viewings.
EVERYDAY MSE
I withdrew £50 to last the week. I bought some chicken, chickpea flour and some dried yeast. I have £42.50 left
Small money saving
I walked when I would usually take the bus.
I had a coffee but not a sweet treat
SAVED £3.55
Small money wastage
I bought chickpea flour but it had added pea flour that I can’t eat!
WASTED £1.40
I’m back for an overnight caring session tonight. Will cycle.
I hope everyone is ok.

Hope the viewings go well. That's a lovely gesture buying the homeless person a pastry."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5

Most are done via appointments and they can be booked online, double check rather than spending another trip looking into it.
Use mortgage calculators to see how different options work and consider taking the maximum term, but make overpayments.
Also, think about putting a post up on the mortgage board and see what the brokers say, there are some good ones who comment. Consider using a broker as it takes the stress out of looking for a mortgage. I know your circumstances are different as you've a good deposit, but lower APR could make a difference.
Shame about the flour, do you know anyone you can pass it on to?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -

Yes I can make an online appointment but the BS is on my way home from relatives so popping back in isn't an issue. There is no urgency. In fact it is nice to slowly get my head round applying, stops me feeling overwhelmed.
My brain is full of numbers partly due to overuse of calculators! It isn't necessarily a mortgage I'm after, but don't want to go into too much financial detail on a public forum. But don't worry I am fully informed.
Good point about the flour. I will put it in the food bank bin at the supermarket and I will try not to buy chocolate whilst I am thereIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

The good news is I avoided a coffee out... But then I went into Lid1 for fresh fruit and veg and emerged £24 lighter!!! I also took a bus as I had shopping. I also spent £4 on a vintage beaded necklace in the CS So, £12.50 left and it is only 3 days in from drawing out my weekly allowance
I made some nice soup. At least soup is MSE

It means you've only got to make it last 4 days, you can do it DIA!
Soup is great, full of flavour and perfect for an evening.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -
Good luck on the house hunting. I can relate with the numbers crunching you are going through, I have taken a break for now and honestly, I am not ready to face the numbers again. My Debt Free Diary: Virgo In Pursuit

Thanks @MovingForwards I am having a NSD today. It is dry so I can cycle where I need to go. Going to force myself to survive on the £12.50 I have left!
Thanks @anjyeah Good to see you post, especially as you understand the continuous number crunching my brain insists on doing over and over again. I dare not stop looking as at this rate I will be priced out. I will only borrow a small amount so if that doesn't give me a house I will be forced to rent until the market calms down. Hey ho.
Today I was up early enough to put the slow cooker on. A good sleep in my own bed as we now have a night nurse a few days a weekI've a chicken in the slow cooker. It takes forever in the Instant P0t.
I'm having a NSD today. I am! I'm meeting a friend in the park but I'm taking a flask of coffee and she will bring some chocolate
The procedure for additional finance has been explored. I can apply if I have an offer accepted. I really hope I will not need it. It might be computer says no, if so I rethink. Sick of doing the same thing over and over and getting nowhere. Isn't that the definition of madness? Time for fresh thinking even if it doesn't work I tried something different...
At relatives tonight
I have the table I said I needed to work and a free day so today I will do some work. My first session target will be 3 hours.
Wishing everyone a positive day

Enjoy the walk in the park DIA .Enjoy the chicken too🐔
Hopefully the right place will appear in the not too distant , and that stress will be eventually reduced .Hopefully you won't need additional funds , but from what I can see your plan should all be manageable whatever way you go .Keep plodding ..6 -
OLio is really good for passing on food you can't eat (and non-food items too). I've managed to clear a *lot* of stuff via the app and picked up some really useful stuff too. There's a Pakistani family round the corner that often has spare curry, which is my top favourite Olio find. I also picked up a Modibodi swimsuit for my DD the other day.Choose kind6
