Big roll of jiffy wrap is great for wrapping china and glassware and make sure the boxes are not too heavy so we alternated heavy things like china in with bedding and towels. Label everything.
Take advantage of moving by decluttering and offloading clothes you no longer wear to recycling as charity shops not open at the moment.
Hopefully the week of caring for relative will give you some brief respite from the chaos at home if nothing else. I am usually an organised person but every move we have done as left me feeling unsettled so you may find a week away may actually be quite calming with not having to look at empty walls and boxes etc obviously depending on the relative and how onerous it is looking after them. Congratulations on having exchanged DIA!🍾
it's all very exciting (I feel excited for you!) and hope all goes well.I hope to move myself in the next eighteen months and will certainly revert back to this diary for some tips. When I had stuff in storage I must say that it was certainly worth looking around at the various storage firms. The one I eventually picked was a little more expensive but the storage facilities were excellent and everything was pristine when it finally came out.Looking forward to your updates!😀Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Thanks @mothernerd, so much helpful advice there. I will be following all of your suggestions except herbs and spices as I will be storing items so chucking them all.
Thanks @another_casualty and you were right, I felt a better after eating. I need to keep searching for removal quotes as many people are moving before the SDDL...
Thanks @enthusiasticsaver I bought a roll of bubblewrap yesterday. I had to cycle with it sticking out of my cycling basket! You are right I will enjoy being with my relative and it will distract me from feeling overwhelmed.
Thanks @Seasidegal58 Good to read a story of successful storage

Yesterday I felt a bit better after breakfast so I took a cycle in search of materials for moving. I overdid it as I went for miles in my search. I found those zip up bags for packing soft things. I took the wrong items back to W1lk0s. I bought a roll of bubblewrap and a bit of grocery shopping.
I woke up feeling fine so I did some packing and then tried to organise as best I could for the removals quote.
Wrapping, boxing, packing getting ready for the removals quote. Then 20 minutes before the allotted time he texts to cancel and ask to rearrange. I know I should probably give him a chance but I can't. It would make me too nervous that he might let me down when it mattered. I will prioritise contacting some removal companies today.
I also have to go to a few storage units but that will have to wait until next week as this week is caring responsibilities.
I didn't do BB/internet notification, so I'll do that this morning. One things for sure I can't say I have nothing to do!
Wishing you all a good start to the week

Never get a second chance to make a first impression, go with your gut feeling.
Do you got one room you can break down as have it as your boxed storage room. Then you can abandon the room, close the door and live in relative comfort while doing the rest of the packing?
Hope the caring responsibilities go well.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -

Busy day. I suppose they will all be busy days for the next few weeks. All going well
1 large bag packed
Pictures bubble wrapped
Mirror bubble wrapped
4 removal companies contacted. Appointments made for quotes for 2 of them
All herbs and spices decluttered
Canned foods are ready fro the food bank.
BB provider contacted. They are charging me for leaving early but it is less than 1 month's charge and I've had a £20 credit for poor connection.
I have a thank you card and £50 for the only person at the EAs to consistently keep his word and provide a good service. He saved me lots of stress. He is quite junior but delivered better than the official 'negotiators'
The buyer wants to come over with his builder next week. First I said yes, but it will be stressful so I called straight back and said I would prefer he waited until I had gone.
@MovingForwards I am using your suggestion of all the boxes in one room.
Thanks @another_casualty. I'm starting think I am doing okay too. After all, people move to new countries with little ones and no help, so I should be okay!
A friend offered to help with my move. Really nice of her. She has had the vaccine but I haven't so will wait until I've had mine then she can help form storage to the new home (once found)...
I will be quiet on here for a while as off and away now. Back soon.

Friends and relatives can let you down , regardless of their good intentions .A nice touch from you regarding the estate agent . As you probably recall, I had many showing various viewers around . The newest member of staff got me the sale .Carry on as you are 😼..6 -
You have step by step plans in place. You'll get there. I would prioritise getting help with removals.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
