That sounds like a good result to live in your relatives house after completing on your sale. You will be in a great position to buy somewhere and no need to serve out notice on a private rental. As Sam says it is good for your relative too as the house would not be sat there empty over lockdown.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. That is certainly a win win for you both, I am sure your relative is very pleased to know the home will not be empty and also takes a worry away from them.
Wonderful start to 2021 with the decluttering

That's wonderful news! Takes the pressure off looking for a permanent home 🤗Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.7

I was a bit concerned about you completing your sale, and then struggling to find either a new home or rent for a while due to COVID .This has come at the right time .
It takes a lot of pressure off and you'll have time to decide what your next step will be once the sale goes through .A great start to the year ..7 -
Thanks @MovingForwards You are right it does take the pressure off
Thanks @another_casualty I know you were worried about me struggling to find somewhere during Covid. The pressure to do that has been removed but it all feels very real now so starting to feel a bit edgy about leaving my house even though it is what I want (if that makes sense)If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Today I was up and out first thing. I walked to MnS to return an item. It was drizzling and a bus came that I ran for but it did not stop so I walked on. Glad really as it is exercise, plus saved the fare. On the way back I had shopping so I took a bus back. I open a window and people complain. I say, ‘wash hands, make space, and let in air’ and ignore them. A woman gets on. No mask. A bad cough, lots of spluttering. I get off with the bags and walk. Wasted fare! Lots of exercise today whether I want it or not…
I called the bike shop. They are overbooked. He should be able to fit me in before the weekend. If I had my bike I could totally avoid local transport.
Spoke to friend about redirecting my post to her address. Also care of my outside and indoor plants. She is happy to do this. Once I have a completion date I will arrange this.
As I won’t be in the new place to rent I will use a storage company very nearby and when I find somewhere I can get removals to the new area.
Ordered some clothes online. Four items and all deeply discounted in the sale. I won’t keep them if I don’t totally love them. Seems spendy, but they are all considered purchases that will (if I keep them) last. I go by cost per wear: that’s my excuse…
Food shopping done so I should be fine now and can use my change jar if I need any F&V top-ups.
I need to do loads of house related admin for the solicitor that I have not started and it is already dark. Sigh. Tomorrow is another day…
Hope everyone is ok.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences on the bus. That's the thing : we do the right thing , but the others are a law onto theirselves . Best not to say anything as the world is not what it was .
You are obviously getting the anxiety about your move now , but you are handling everything well . The only thing to be aware of is if you are able to check your home a couple of times a week unless you have a neighbour or friend close by that can keep an eye for you . I'm not too sure of the distance you are moving to from where you are now .Hope things improve through the week ..8 -
Thanks AC. I must admit people without masks do make me edgy (although I appreciate they may have reasons for not wearing them) And public transport right now really isn't for me...
With the house: I won't be moving until the house is sold so no need to keep an eye on the houseThe place I am going to temporarily is a flat and currently family check in there often.
Today wasn't a bad day. In many ways it was a good day where things got sorted.
