If it keeps happening over the next few days phone your internet provider, or look at their website, and see if there's any known issues.
80% of the paperwork is great, remember if you haven't got something say you don't, if you don't know an answer say unknown.
You are right about 'unknown'...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

There is one thing I could suggest , and one thing that is harder to explain regarding your broadband ..
1) have you tried restting the router ? ( I think that's the term ) You need a paper clip and put it into the small hole at the back . When you do this, the lights will start flashing for a few seconds and then go back to normal . Do this with the power left on .2) changing the port ( a different number the traffic comes through your router )
It is too complicated to explain . If you go down this route , it's best to talkt o your internet provider . They will talk you through it .I've done it a couple of times and it did make a difference . I'm with Vodafone .
I'll leave it there...⛄️7 -
I am no IT expert but did find that with one previous provider the speed always dropped off at peak times - I think the term is traffic shaping. Essentially they prioritise people streaming and gaming who need the capacity and lower use customers suffer. I changed supplier and checked I had picked a contract that said no shaping, because I had moved to working some days from home and it was much more important than when the internet was just for entertainment. If it is a long term issue for you, it might be worth checking when you next move or review.Debt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress

That's great news about the relative's house.

Hi there DIA.
Not posted here for a long while ,but regularly read during a spot of lunch. Changed my password as it didn't seem to like the last one!!!
Sounds like things are falling into place and although it will be stressful you will get there in the end. "Feel the fear and do it anyway"
Feeling good today as I have 2 weeks off. Yippie.
Like you DIA I get anxious with change. Have managed to transfer a direct debit over to a new account & cancel my lottery one & account. The old account needed 2 direct debits and money paid in each month. Had a few £2.00 odd wins, but not a big one. Got to be sorted out.
Well done on your progress with the solicitors information too.
Frosty first thing here, but it has melted now. Need to get dressed and help hubbie take down the Christmas lights from outside the house. Footing the ladder in the cold is not something I'm looking forward to but it's got to be done. A hot chocolate afterwards may ease the pain.
Onwards and upwards.
I'm sending positive vibes and covid free virtual hugs.8 -
I'd leave the xmas lights up for longer and cheer people up (I am and mine don't even require ladders)Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks @another_casualty and @RosaBernicia for the IT input. I have taken both of your comments onboard. Hopefully I won't have to put up with the dodgy service much longer anyway...It is an additional factor that my computer needing a total cleanup and debug.
Thanks @jwil I am so pleased about having somewhere to stay if/when I move
Thanks @Mrs_Boo_Boo. I am doing OK with all the change considering...
Good to hear had a good break. I agree with @savingholmes, you should leave the lights up
Well, I have been beset by IT issues and add in a massive migraine. On the plus side my weight is going down really well thanks to all the veg and the soup maker. My joints are much improved over the past few months.
I continue to declutter. Today I decluttered my food cupboard and then paints. I seem to have loads of paint, some new but I no longer like the colours. I've kept going with clothes too.
Yesterday I went to the PO and returned some items I thought twice about. I also sent a froggy letter that I should have done in 2020.
I need to have a boiler service and copy the certificate to the solicitor.
I still need to brave the garage and clear the loft...
I have the new phone at last but need to set it up and find a provider for calls, thinking of a monthly only contract. Anyone any ideas?
I hope everyone is okay and staying safe.
(If I don't come on as often it is due to IT issues)

Hi DIA. I can't help with the best mobile deal from scratch as I have tied myself to EE as their loyalty rewards keep me ticking over.
The MSE mobile comparison site is pretty good, although there are others (eg uswitch, ...). With SIM only giffgaff usually gets a good mention. When I spoke to EE they seem to offer three main bundles so you need to decide (whoever you go with) roughly which camp you are in (prices are the undiscounted public offers)
* round about 500MB-2GB was £12 a month
* round about 20 GB was £16 a month
* round about 100GB (effectively unlimited) for £20.
Now I have seen best sims/mobiles deals in Martin's newsletter so I would just skim through the last few to see what's good (or look at the utilities section). I think you may be able to get quite a good deal. If I may, if you are going to be doing a bit of to and fro, and looking at houses (especially if you are going to facetime a friend to accompany you) I would err on the side of caution and get a larger GB Balance then you may have needed. Monthly SIMs are more expensive, so you need to work out how long you need the flexibility for. If its 6 months you might be cheaper just to pick a 12 month contract, as you will still need it after all, and (as above) you pay 50% of the cost for just having one and then the amount you pay for more data isn't that much really!!

I wouldn't commit to a sim only contract, unless it was a rolling month only one, just in case it's no use where you move to due to signal or provider issues.
- If there no internet at home my phone is useless until I go outside, in the last flat it was ok if I waved it by the window. I pay £10pm for 8gb, unlimited text / calls (excluding premium rate etc).
You could have declined the boiler service and invited your buyer to pay for their own.
Good luck with the de-cluttering 🤗Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6
