I hope you all are keeping well, occupied and positive.
I'm I'm relaxing after a busy week. It's good to kick back and take a break.
I'm still trying daily to dress well and wear makeup. I've given up with the hair as it's broken limp and looking a bit weak. I might put a mask on it tommorow. I really need a strengthening treatment but ain't gonna happen.
Lessons learned.. I always think that the bank holds no loyalty to you and you shouldn't either. If the location, fees or service don't suit find an alternative. I do the majority of banking with a mainly internet based bank that has few branches. I also have a secondary accounts with national banks. It suits me to minimize fees and to allow greater use of services that are better with one than the other. I think I can be nice but watch money too. It's a mindset I've had with banks even as a child.

Similar to Wednesday and Maman, I have also been thinking about what I would like to do post lockdown. I drove past a Kurdish restaurant that I had never noticed before (even though I regularly drive past it) and I thought maybe I should try it, instead of the Thai restaurant that we normally go to. I guess, I’m thinking about broadening my horizons as I’ve realised I’m not as adventurous as I thought I was.
I went foraging and found some wild garlic. Not bad for a Londoner. I just need to research what I can do with it and then I’ll pick some more as I’d like to preserve some. I still have some blackberries left in the freezer from thr autumn. Some bad news, my contact at work is coming to and end and is unlikely to be renewed due to finances. It’s just not a good time to have to look for work. We’ll be okay for a few months. And I can always forage for food if things get tough!
lessons - well done on your plans for your home and also your financial prepping.
sugar - great that you can pay off your council tax. That’s one less bill you have to think about for a while.
cbsexex I use borrowbox from the library. Plus I have an app for magazines as well, which is pretty good.
I’m not missing shopping as much as I thought I would. Lockdown had made me realise I have a healthy wardrobe and lots of outfits for different occasions (not that I’m seeing many different occasions at thr moment).7 -
Good Morning Lovely Ladies.Chanie....sorry to hear about your contract. Hopefully you won't be out of work for too long, something might turn up. (I sound like Mr McCawber). 😂. And as you say, I think lockdown is making a lot of us realise we don't actually need to shop so much. I am saving a small fortune. 😂. Yesterday I ordered some furniture. I didn't need to use any of FILs legacy to pay for it because I have saved enough whilst being in lockdown to cover it. Even better.
I honestly don't need any more clothes for the foreseeable future.....just undies. And because I'm trying not to go food shopping too often I am actually getting much better at menu planing. I have slashed my grocery bill so even more savings. 😁. And now that the weather is improving I've even reduced my heating bills.SUgarbaby....well done on the council tax.11 -
I hope that the lock down will make people more aware of what they really and avoid the fast fashion. Im going to limit the purchase of items that don't last and try and make better fashion decisions.
chanie - hopefully something will be around the corner. It is not easy with the uncertainty nevertheless.
im really tied today and finding concentrating difficult. i cant expect every day off to be hoghly productive can I ?

Chanie, sorry to hear about the end of your contract in these troubled times. Good to hear that you and your family could survive for months without your salary if necessary.5

I have ordered a few things today. I ordered a new black maxi dress, some silver hoop earrings (I bent one of my old ones) and some sunglasses. Looking through my clothes I realise I only have one cardigan, a navy one. Some of the others were donated and I lost one cardigan at the Stereophonics concert. It was my favourite black one as well. I will look for some in chazzers when this is over as I prefer to try them on. I got a new conditioner too.
I also ordered a new weighing scales that tells you your body fat, muscle mass etc...I'm not looking forward to knowing my body fat percentage, lol.
It's beautiful weather again. I just went for a walk and then played fetch with my dog. She is getting so much attention. She brings me her ball every time I go outside now!

Wednesday lots of lovely things to look forward to. I think it is so important to look after yourself both mentally and physically during these times.

Hope everyone is well and looking fabulous. I think I might have solved the problem with the foundation, the shade didn't suit me and moved to a paler colour. I bronze it up on the cheeks for a bit of live. I use the same bronzer as an eyeshadow. I feel better now than the bad shade before.
Sunday I nearly ate everything around me. That being said I know that I tend to over eat so I buy a lot of vegetables, it can be hard to over eat cabbage and carrots. But Sunday I really made an so much of an effort. Thankfully I seem to be doing better and eating more legumes and trying. This week portion control is essential for me. I have to log calories and do right by me. It's genuinely hard to battle ourselves, we know our goals and how to achieve them but the same self who sets the goals undermines ourselves. It's complicated and confusing. Why can't the i make a decision without the me messing it up?
So keep well and keep laughing6 -
Glad to hear you've resolved the issue with the foundation sft. It's never easy as it can be quite an expensive mistake. I prefer a tinted moisturiser but Benefit discontinued my favourite.😕 I tried a foundation which felt too heavy so now I mix it with a bit of moisturiser to get the more dewy look I like. Anyway that's my winter make up and summer is on it's way. 🌞
I've given up on any hope of my June holiday but I'm still getting my skin ready for summer. Today I've done a defuzz and mixed some fake tan with my body lotion.
While we don't have a pool 😉🏊 I'm thinking of buying a new sun lounger for the garden. We can pretend. 😁
That's a shame about your contract coming to an end chanie. Is there any chance you could be furloughed?
DH was busy in the garden today so we didn't get out for a walk, hopefully tomorrow. My neck is still a bit sore but much improved. I found some exercises online that seem to have helped. I have taken painkillers but the amitryptiline makes me feel very sort of sleepy and spaced out. Do you find that with medication Wednesday?
I've got a big appetite too sft. Like you, I eat loads of vegetables to fill up and keep carbs fairly low.
Take care all. 😉
