Hello Ladies,
I went out to run a few errands and to get some shopping from Morrisons in Camberwell Green. It was lovely weather so I enjoyed being out in the sunshine and relatively fresh here.
I took my 1st trip to a post office since lockdown. I had to wait about 20 minutes in the queue outside the building before I could join the 2 person queue in the post office. They were really enforcing social distancing. I posted 2 books for my daughter for her belated Mother's Day present from me, as she had missed out when I was so ill in hospital. The other presents I bought for her, are too heavy to post to my daughter, but she understands that as soon as I can travel to see her and her husband, I will take her other presents with me and give them to her in person.
I have started to read Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo, which I am enjoying immensely. This book is a worthy winner of the Booker prize in 2019.

ive been struggling too with over eating while ive been in lock down, and before this , me and a friend had started swimming about 3 times a week and it was really making a difference........Anyway the friend i went with is also isolating , so weve tried to make it fun , and actually sent each other letters with goals and what weve been doing , more fun than a text, and nice to know we are both on the same page so to speak , Started back on "Our" boot camp last Sunday and the surplus pudding is coming off really quickly , so thats good , Always good to have a goal to try and achieve,,,,,,,,gives us something to aim for.
Still de cluttering, and making things look nice, DH has been doing the garden and the lawns look good, Nice to sit out when the weather is nice, DH went on a moterbike holiday with friends and neighbours last year ( They go every year , his first time ) but he loved it , and they planned to go again this May , Sticking to France this time ( Went round France/ Belgium and Germany last year ) Of course due to the virus they cant go , so enquired to the hotels if they could get thier money back ,,,,,,,,but they said they would be open for business in May ??? so no refunds,
Bought a new silk nightie and gown set, My washer decided to chew my other one ( Never misbehaved before so hope it was a one off ) so they came this week , Also my Courgette seeds and runner beans , had to buy off the internet as none in the shops , had to pay a premium so hope they grow ,
Anyone been watching anything good on tele ?
The government announced we are close to getting a vaccine for the virus , Lets hope so . and i pray the people who have volunteered to trial it will be safe , xx7 -

I'm still so tired that I was in bed before 9 o'clock last night. I really must need the rest. I'm still trying to get up fairly early to get back to my normal sleeping pattern as I'm naturally a lark.
I did a proper hair treatment yesterday. I wet and combed my hair and put the deep conditioner on and then sat out in the sun for an hour. My hair felt a lot easier to brush after I washed it out.
I bought a new conditioner along with the melatonin but I don't know when that will arrive. My new dress and sunglasses came but not the earrings yet.
I was listening to the radio the other day and I guy was saying he was using this lockdown period to stop washing his hair. Has anyone heard of this before? That if you stop washing your hair (you still brush it obviously) it starts to clean itself after about 2 weeks. I did try it before but I gave in as it felt too gross.
I know people (mostly vegans like me) who have tried it and say it works. Some people stop using commercial shampoos and use baking soda or vinegar instead. It's called "No poo" as in no shampoo. The 'No Poo' Method
I went off on a tangent there, now I can't even remember what I was going to say on here...2025 GOALS

I can honestly tell you the no washing hair does not work. In my darkest moments my hair is neglected or isolated studying and over three weeks the hair is terrible. It is oily and limp and build up. It does not work for me but maybe someone else.

I just jet washed the garden/patio as I was so bored. I'm not bored enough to do the drive too, yet... It is really warm today and it is almost dry already.
I'm about to sit down and have a cool drink.

A woman I met in Goa, hadn't washed her hair for over 2 years , n it looked ok, but I couldn't do it 🤨
My skin on my face is so dry at the mo.Can anyone recommend a good, n not too expensive moisturiser, that's ok for sensitive skin?
I was prescribed amiltryptiline, for my arthritis n neuropathy, but they literally knocked me out completely

Thanks for the feedback on the amitriptyline. When I have disc pain in my back (fortunately rarely) I'm happy to take the zombie feeling rather than the agony but with my neck it's only hurt when I'm looking down so while inconvenient I was better sitting up and watching trash TV.
I've heard about that non hair washing thing too but I don't think I could cope with it. I've just bought some new shampoo too so won't be trying it any time soon. I was running low on shampoo and I'm giving the John Freida volume one a try. I usually use their blonde one to preserve my highlights but I thought I'd have a change. My hair is looking surprisingly good considering it should have been cut a good few weeks ago. I think I'll trim my fringe again but otherwise it's not bad at all.
I went to our local shopping centre today as I needed a few things in Sainsbury's. I'm a regular Aldi shopper but there are still a few bits that I prefer elsewhere. While I was in the shopping centre I went to Superdrug for some disposable razors as I'm determined to keep defuzzing. I picked up a couple of those shower net things too as they were 2for1 and in a pale grey to go with my lovely bathroom.
I decided against the animal print dress in Sainsbury's as it was too synthetic when I felt it. It does seem more acceptable to buy other than food items now. In fact Martin Lewis was on the radio the other day saying he'd been spending online deliberately to try to help keep the economy going a bit. So I'll browse the sun loungers online later.
It's another glorious, sunny day here. My 'one mile' outfits that I've been living in recently have been updated to a short sleeved top with leggings. Today I didn't even need a jacket. I've been wearing my Jack Wills tee shirts that fit so well.
I notice that they're on offer so I might have to buy more. Staying in is getting expensive!

I agree staying in is getting expensive. So I temporarily blocked my card to restrict shopping. I can unblock it anytime bit I want to use up what I have and save money and a slot for someone who can't make to the shops. The shelves are packed and I've not even used a lot of dried goods.
I have to be smart with the money and honestly going to the supermarket scared me so bad that I'm throwing in stuff and not focused on getting the best value.
I gave away a lot of summer gear last year but am not in a rush to buy more. I can shop on Amazon if desperate but honestly I don't think I need a lot. I have to balance the books as I spent a lot of money prepping for the pandemic. I have to pull it back.
I made a larder special for dinnet. Lentil and chickpea curry. It was great. I have a few bread mix's lurking in the back of my cupboard. I might give it a blast.
