Woke up feeling a tad uncomfortable. By 9.30 realised I had a UTI 😞. Rang surgery, nurse rang me back within 5 minutes for a telephone consultation. They emailed a prescription to my nearest chemist. Picked it up at 11.30. Three hours from start to finish.....amazing service.Just going to rest today.I agree ......I think that telephone or video consultations could be a big leap forward......especially for simple routine stuff.6 -
Yes, agree about the GP surgery. They're getting really worried that people aren't contacting them. Not surprising really as my surgery just had a recorded message diverting you to 111 at the beginning. Now all advance appointments have dried up people are assuming GPs don't want to be contacted. 🤔
Can't do a link from my phone but the guidelines allow a short journey provided it's not longer than the exercise. 😁9 -
Hello Ladies,
I went to Lidl in Camberwell Green with my daughter and was pleasantly surprised to find no queue, so we could both just walk straight into the store. This week's shopping only cost me just over £36.
My daughter carried the 3 heavy bags and left me with only the 2 light bags of shopping. The sun was shining, so I made an effort and wore a navy and white spot skirt with a short sleeved navy top, a white cotton cardigan and a pair of white and silver Van Dal sandals that are new and I was wearing for the 1st time. I was wearing solid silver jewellery with my stainless steel and diamond Ingersoll watch and carried my red leather Osprey handbag.
I am spending much less since lockdown, even though I did a lot of spending on non food essentials so that I could stock up and not have to worry about running out of essentials for at least 6 months.
LL I think that it is ironic that we can all get really good service from our G.P Surgery as they have so few patients in these days of the Corona virus pandemic. I have been to my surgery twice since leaving hospital and both times it was completely empty. The 3 receptionists were sat there twiddling their thumbs and talking to each other, as even the phones were silent, when normally they would be ringing constantly. I hope that your UTI clears up relatively quickly.

LL am pleased you got your treatment quickly. I have been to A & E twice in the last few months, just before lockdown and was in and out within about 3 hours. Couldn’t fault the care.7

Good Morning Lovely Ladies
Thankfully the antibiotics have kicked in and my UTI has calmed down already. Only problem now of course is the side effects of the AB's, the nausea is worse than being pregnant.😂. Never mind I'll just take it easy for a couple of days, it will pass. A good excuse to laze on my sun lounger. I treated myself to new ones a couple of years ago when DS2 worked at the garden centre. I got them in the sale and of course took full advantage of his staff discount. Zero gravity recliners, very comfortable - perfect for a nap.
I have got a nice gentle tan now and my hair has been bleached pure white by the sun....I look as if I've been on holiday. I must admit I always feel better with a bit of a glow. I'm guessing there will be no foreign travel for some time to come.....at least not this year but with weather like this I don't mind at all.I managed to cut my fringe but I could do with a trim now. My eldest son has managed to cut the little ones hair. He has done a good job - I'll have to get him to do mine when lockdown eases a bit and we manage to get together. 😂
So all in all I am coping ok with my solitary confinement, a tad envious at times of all my married friends and those in relationships. I have a friend who is a widow and who met someone new but was undecided on how to progress the relationship. They were both nervous about taking the plunge....Anyway they decided that they would move in together for the lockdown. They are so happy they have decided they will make the arrangement permanent. Every cloud has a silver lining. My silver lining is I'm saving quite a lot of money.....9 -
Hello ladies on this lovely sunny morning. Just plodding along here, some days good and I make effort with clothes and makeup, some pretty low ones where I only wear my gardening scruffs (clean of course). I hope that shopping is sorted now, T*sco delivery tomorrow and Asda slots after that, so pleased that OH will not have to shop anymore, he does not mind the actual shopping, but has been worried stiff about bringing the virus home to me.
Pleasures:- well lots of them, good company from OH and dearest dog, books and music a plenty, nice food and enjoying preparing it (most days anyway), the space that I have here and the lovely little cul-de-sac we live in, great neighbours, the busy birds and looking forward to seeing their off-spring soon, pottering and de-weeding and tidying the garden and seeing dormant plants (many that I had forgotten) coming to life, reading of your exploits and living vicariously through posts and blogs.
Have a great day, and as Churchill often said "keep b*ggering on", one day you will all be able to see and cuddle your loved ones again, as will we hopefully. xThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)7 -
Hello Ladies,
From Monday 20th April, all TFL buses are now free. We now have to board and leave buses through only the middle doors. This initiative will hopefully provide London bus drivers enough protection to prevent any more bus driver deaths. Of course I will save a lot of money through not having to pay for my bus travel as will all Londoners.
My housing Estate residents and I have participated in the clap for the NHS every Thursday at 8pm since it begun. It is lovely to have so much clapping. whistling and other loud noises to support our NHS staff. It is a small way to show our appreciation of all they do for our communities.

That is good about the free travel Sugarbaby.
I went out for my walk and popped into a shop yesterday and it seemed far busier than usual. There were more people on the buses that went past too. I'm not sure why... Maybe the weather, most people are swerving to avoid each other, though.
I am about to go for my daily walk. I am wearing my grey maxi dress with my cobalt blue top, my gold sandals and one of my blue birthday pendants. I'm going to wear my new blue sunglasses too. I have ordered myself another electric fan as I suddenly thought that the weather might turn hot and I wanted to be prepared if I might have to be stuck indoors so much. It's meant to be delivered tomorrow which is pretty helpful.
My Ocado delivery is today. My husband will have to handle taking in all the shopping bags as I stupidly arranged my CBT phone session at the same time. I hope my dogs won't be barking too much! I will go into my bedroom and close the door and I have a white noise machine so I will put that on too.

Yes great news about the buses sugarbaby, the buses here are permanently empty I can't see how they will be able to run much longer , the most I have seen on a double decker bus is 2 people.
Well I walked 15000 steps this morning with DH , five minute walk to field from our house then we only came across one man with his dog, we were out 2 hours though but really enjoyed it.
Glad you got good treatment from your GP 's surgery LL and like you I have been reading in the garden and have a light tan and the blond bits in my hair have been highlighted. Still waiting for my thinning scissors to arrive though.5 -
Wednesday I ageee, it does feel busier this last week. I think people are becoming more complacent and are venturing out more now.
