Priti Patel has said today that shops are free to sell anything they have in stock. This was to contradict the Chief Constable of Northampton who'd said his officers would be checking trolleys for non essential items. Thank goodness for that. I can go to the Tu Department in Sainsburys with a clear conscience. 😉5

Good that Patel has come out and given some guidelines. My sisters pharmacy is next door to a florist. She had to give away her stock yesterday, she wasn't allowed to sell it. So she had a collection box for charity.......
So many mixed messages and some rather overzealous police officers it seems. Apparently people have been stopped for buying wine....... I'm sorry but wine and chocolate are essentials. 😂.Maman definitely buy the dress if you like it. 😉.Just heard that Boris has come out of ICU. Great stuff.7 -
Nice and sunny here in Cornwall for a change! I spent a lot of time sitting in the garden doing my embroidery. DH cooked dinner on the BBQ and we opened a bottle of prosecco - was like being on holidayDebt free and Keeping on Track6

Whilst I don’t think people should be faffing in supermarkets, surely people should be able to buy whatever a supermarket is selling, including clothes. My children will probably need a few extra clothes at some point. I guess the government is trying to keep the economy going, given the circumstances.6

helensbiggestfan said:Is it me or does Dominic Rabb remind you of Jeffrey Fairbrother in Hi De Hi.At first I thought he looked like a scared rabbit caught in a cars headlights but he seems to be finding his feet now. He doesn't have Johnson's Churchillian demeanour and charisma but I think he's doing a good job holding the fort. Gentle but with a quiet authority.
I'll say one thing for Boris, he knows how to delegate and how to pick good advisers. I think he's picked a crack team. Can you imagine if we had been lumbered with Trump. Nobel prize indeed.....the man is clearly delusional.

Hello Ladies,
I will be staying at home with my daughter all over the Easter. My original plan was to go to Birmingham for a big family Easter, but of course that all had to be cancelled.
I started reading the book Me Before You by JoJo Moyes yesterday and I am already on page 260 already as I am really enjoying reading this book. I will read the other 2 books in the trilogy once I have finished reading this book.
I was tempted to buy a leg of lamb in Lidl as they were only £7.99 kg but then I realised that we too would be eating lamb for about a week to finish it, so I just bought some chicken legs instead, which at £1.75 kg were much cheaper anyway.
I have changed the bedding on my bed and will tell my daughter to change the bedding on her bed once she finally wakes up. I always put fresh bedding on all of the beds on Good Friday for Easter. I am putting my best set on my bed, as I feel like celebrating Easter. As I consider myself a Christian, I always eat fish on Good Friday. This year I am making minimal effort as my son did not want to come home for Easter, so fish fingers for lunch and haddock fillets in batter for dinner this evening with my daughter.
I have to wash, deep condition, towel dry then corn row my daughter's hair today, so she looks good for Easter. I have been too ill to do it before today, so it has been 5 weeks since I last did it. Normally I do her hair every 2 weeks. I will pace myself at every stage so that hopefully I will not be too exhausted when I am finished.

Good morning lovely ladies
Although I'm an aetheist. (Lapsed Catholic). 🤣. I too still always eat fish on Good Friday. Old habits die hard I guess. So salmon it is, good omega 3. I do try to eat oily fish at least once a week. On Sunday I will of course be dining in solitary splendour so I have treated myself to a Ribeye steak. Ordinarily I would be cooking for my family and we would be tucking into a leg of lamb for Easter, but we can do that later .........
Managed a walk this morning and picked up some eggs. I have ordered 5 litres of white vinegar off EBay.....to use for household cleaning and as weedkiller. I'm afraid I have given up trying to hand weed the larger sections of the garden, the paths and driveways etc. It's just too big a job.I have been struggling a bit with fibro and arthritis of late so I have decided that from now on I will take a few short cuts. 🤣 and a few "cheats". Start making life a bit easier for myself.SUgarbaby ....I have now started Me Before You now too.......love it, even though it is stirring up a few memories. Despite the sadness, it is a lovely uplifting and inspirational story. Can't wait to see what happens.Going to sit out in the sun and read some more today.......😂8 -
Thanks for the laugh about Dominic Raab, he really does look like that character from Hi de Hi.
I needed a laugh as I'd let myself get very maudlin. I was listening to a YouTube video of a Welsh Male Voice choir singing 'When I survey the wondrous cross' . Like you, sugarbaby, I consider myself a Christian and listening to that it brought back so many memories of my childhood and family that I had tears rolling down my face. Definitely not a day for sorting the photographs LL.
That's really clever of you to be able to corn row your daughter's hair. It looks incredibly complicated. Are they tiny plaits? It must take an age to do.
My DD1 called round again this morning She'd been out doing her own shopping so brought me the few bits I couldn't get yesterday. She's very strict about social distancing in that she leaves what she's bought on the doorstep, knocks and then walks back to the end of the drive then we have a long distance conversation. I think it's really her way of keeping an eye on us as she knows I'm doing my own shopping. She's doing shopping for her elderly next door neighbours too. I'm really proud of her.
I've got a short sleeved top and leggings on again today but not sure if they'll be too hot for my walk. Your dress/shorts outfit sounds good Wednesday. I used to have a holiday outfit that was a very short dress/tunic with matching shorts underneath, back in the day when M&S sold things worth buying.I wore it to death as it looked good but really comfortable too.
We're having fish today too. We had kippers for breakfast and this evening I'm adapting fish in a savoury crumb, which is one of the Jamie Oliver recipes, for dinner.
Stay safe all.

Yes I was wondering who Dominic Raab reminded me of, completely forgotten about Hi di Hi.
The roast lamb that we had last night was very nice and tonight I will do a bit of a kind of kebab with the rest as I have some nice flatbreads in the freezer.
I have read Me before you also went to see the film but as usual the book was better, I have been reading in the garden this morning. DH went out for a bike ride at 7.30am so I took some extra time for moisturising and gave myself a pedicure had breakfast when he got back (he was a bit naughty as he was out for 2 hours) but he said he hardly saw a soul.
Was speaking to DD last night on the phone she lives around 60 miles away, she is struggling looking after 2 energetic children especially the 5 year old. SIL is working from home so at the moment he is having his exercise with the 5 year old and then my DD is going out with both children in the afternoon. I can really feel for everyone working from home as a lot are not as fortunate as my DD who does have a decent garden, it must be very difficult.
Glad you managed to get your shopping sugarbaby I must admit I don't like carrying too much have you considered trying to get a delivery from somewhere ?
Decided that I too am staying put today and tomorrow, there will be too may people about and aren't I the lucky one the police chief from Northamptonshire who was on the television is our police chief !!
Stay safe everyone

sorry i havent been posting much but i have been reading and keeping up with all you have been doing , Hope everyone is keeping in good spirits, A lot has happened since i last spoke to you , Mainly my grandaughter is causing concern , and basically i just switched off for a bit .No one wants to hear of woes at this time , but shes had a bad ear for about 2 years ,,,,,loss of hearing , to cut a long story short , she had grommits fitted when she was 6 , it didnt work , so they did them again at christmas and took her anenoids at the same time ,,,,,,,,still didnt work, she only had 15% hearing in one of her ears, , so referred her to a specialist at sheffield hospital ,who we assumed we was seeing to discuss hearing aids !! after more tests , he dropped the bombshell , that she has a disease in her ear , that has GOT to be operated on in the next 3 months or it WILL go to her brain . ,it was scheduled for april 13th, Corona virus ,,,so it was put off till may 19th ,,,now its been cancelled altogether as the hospital has the virus , so of course we want her to be safe but the clock is ticking . No alternative and the op isnt without risk , as they have to operate close to her brain , so thats one thing , BUT she had her 8th birthday last week , and all her friends video called her , posted or made cards and put them through the letterbox, they only moved to that house a few months ago , think the neighbours wondered if they knew all the village, as they all between them devised time slots to come and sing happy birthday to her outside the house ,
Normal stuff , like everyone else ive been tidying the house , de cluttering the spare ( Dumping ) room , the charity shops are going to be inundated after this . A beautiful sunny day here , DH has mowed the lawns and im off to sit in the sunshine ,
