I saw more sunflowers today in a front garden on my walk.
I had to cross the main road at one point as a middle-aged woman in front of me was dawdling and walking in the middle of the path so I couldn't pass her! She was annoying me as she kept turning around to look at me so I was being judgemental and looking at her outfit. Trackie bottoms, huge shapeless t-shirt with a fleece on top and trainers. Hair in a messy ponytail She was probably only 5 years older than I am.
I'm glad I found this thread! That was probably me a few years ago when I went outside.
I have been watching YouTube again today and doing some cooking. I made a lovely and spicy Mexican bean dip in my Magic Bullet. I had it with toast, jalapenos, salad and hot sauce.
My husband is working overtime this weekend so I will read one of my books, do some batch cooking and some meditation. The meditation has fallen by the wayside the past couple of weeks so I need to start that up again.

Loving the dressing gown chanie and it's a great idea tbh my secret guilty pleasure in winter is to put on my pjs and dressing gown after dinner (that's if we're not going out , which is looking less likely this winter)
Been quite a nice day here the predicted rain didn't arrive so had a walk down by the river with a couple of friends and did 9000 steps .
Just watching the end of the tennis semi final with Rafa , I say end as the young Argenti is fighting back but I've always enjoyed watching Rafa, much better as there are some spectators there.
You could be right with your prediction of power cuts LL takes me back to the 1970's when I can remember feeding our toddler son by candle light in his high chair, he didn't seem to mind.
Having fish and chips for dinner tonight as a treat, we have a lovely fish and chip shop quite close but only have them once a month or less.
Better go the tennis is getting exciting.

Hello Ladies,
Haddock fillets with red, orange and yellow peppers, red onion, courgette and microwave pilau rice for dinner tonight. It was so easy to bake the fish and vegetables in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil and mixed herbs

looks delicous Sugarbaby.Nothing wrong with a dressing gown for a bit of extra comfort and warmth Chanie.LL the fire idea sounds great.Miserable here, rained hard. Been for my food shop after work them my swim.School have been putting on a free lunch since september, but most days its Sandwiches, so feeling bloated off bread. Bought some nice salad stuff, prawns, nice ham etc. I think I will take my own next week and perhaps just have the fruit on offer, today it was fresh melon7

Good Morning Lovely Ladies. It's a dreich Morning. Love that word, it's Scottish. It's spot on and perfectly describes cold, damp, dark, gloomy, murky weather. Oh well it is October. 😂
Wednesday, loved your comment about how this thread has helped you change, how you recognised your could have been "other self" in that messy lady. It's true for me too, this thread definitely keeps me on track. It keeps me accountable and helps me to look at myself objectively. I can now make judgements about my appearance rather than dwelling in fantasy land. No more deluding myself I look ok when I clearly don't.I saw a woman In Aldi's the other day, very similar to the one you describe. I think there must be a uniform, even down to hair scraped back in a pony tail. I once heard it described as the "Croydon Facelift" 😂🤣
She was a horror, not just because of her appearance but also her loud "gobby" mouth and her aggressive attitude. She wasn't wearing a mask and when she was tasked about it she went into a typical "I'll do what I want" tirade to the poor shop assistant. Then she swivelled round, hands on hips, continuing her rant to no one in particular, daring someone to challenge her. Clearly spoiling for a fight. No one else paid her the slightest bit of notice. She looked terrible and sounded even worse. Not a shred of womanliness or femininity. Her over dyed black hair made her look like a witch. Boy was she ugly, her face twisted in triumphant hate because she was asserting her "oooman rights, innit".Speaking of being objective. I caught sight of myself in the mirror yesterday. I was wearing one of my recent one mile outfits from Asda. I didn't like what I saw. It had been washed once and already the trousers are baggy and shapeless and the top has started to pil. I will wear them round the house for now until I can get something better but I certainly won't be going out in them. Complete waste of money.SUgarbaby. Your meal looks yummy. I had a bit of a cooking session yesterday, made a big pot of chilli and a lentil and vegetable concoction, it's all portioned up and in the freezer.Maisie. I remember the power cuts of the 70s too. I was a newly wed, living in Scotland in an all electric new build house. No heating just electric fires and no double glazing. Without power for up to 12 hours. I vowed I would never be totally reliant on one fuel source ever again. Even candles were in short supply and you couldn't get a camping gas stove for love nor money. That's why I now always make a point of having back up heating and cooking. In the words of the old Who song "I won't get fooled again" 😂9 -
Hello Ladies,
Thanks LL, I saw a similar recipe in an edition of Woman magazine which I have a subscription for and adapted it to my own taste and used a lot less olive oil. It was a really tasty dinner. That was the 1st time I had cooked haddock fillets, but it will not be the last, as they were very good quality but economical to buy.
I decided to cook chicken legs in gravy with sweet peppers, onion and sliced carrots and Jerk chicken legs for dinner later today and for dinner tomorrow.
It is a typical Autumn day but it is quite bright here in London. I am thankful for my central heating today, as I washed my lovely dressing gown and am waiting for it to dry. Like Chanie, I use my dressing gown for warmth, so that I do not have to turn on the central heating or so that I can put it on a lot lower setting on a cold day. Every degree less on the thermostat saves money and energy.

LL - I never wear my hair tied back as I feel it looks awful on me. My face is too chubby! I always thought Jennifer Aniston from the TV show Friends looked fab with her hair up.2025 GOALS

Hello Ladies,
I got the last of the Christmas presents yesterday for my grandson and son-in-law. So that is me finished with buying Christmas presents.I will most probably start getting them all wrapped this week. Most of them will be posted but I will take my older daughter and my son-in-law their presents as I have not visited them for a while. I also need to take my daughter's birthday presents to her as well for her December birthday.
One of my great nieces had her 18th birthday on Friday. There was a small celebration on Saturday at her grandmother's home in Halesowen, where everyone had a great time.Originally there had been plans for a large family party, but that had to be cancelled when the government announced the rule of 6, which was a real shame, but just had to be endured.
I lost another pound in weight, so now I weigh 16 stones 5lbs

Good to hear that the healthy eating is paying off sugarbaby. Well done on losing another pound.😊
I've had a bit of a trying on session this morning. We're going to a black tie event next week, the third rearranged date. Tables have been reorganised to fit the rule of 6 so fingers crossed our area will still be allowing that by next week. I had planned to wear the spotty Zara dress I bought back in the spring but I think it's too strappy for October so will probably wear my £1 charity shop velvet bargain from Jigsaw. I tried on various heels too which I haven't worn since March. I may take flats with me just in case but I felt OK in black suede courts and they are definitely better for posture. 😉
It's a lovely, bright autumn day here. DH is working so I'm unlikely to go anywhere much. I'll probably just potter about and do a bit of batch cooking for the freezer. 😊

Good afternoon everyone, beautiful sunny day here been busy all morning with washing and housework so that I can settle down later and watch the French Open tennis, and yes Wednesday Rafa still has his good looks I will be cheering him on.
Well done on the weight loss sugarbaby your meals always look very appetising and make me hungry !
It was a nice day here yesterday DH and I had a great walk along the river, didn't feel as though we had gone far but my phone had recorded 9,900 steps .
I can't believe that you have finished your Christmas shopping sugarbaby I have only bought a few nice toiletries for my GD, thankfully as a family we don't buy any of the adults presents just the children so it's pretty easy .
I don't know how people feel about Christmas cards but I really don't like them so I stopped sending them around three years ago, I just make a donation to Cancer Research instead.
LL the dreaded power cuts in the 70's were a nightmare weren't they ? we only had electric storage heaters where we lived so my Dad bought us a calor gas heater. I nearly came a cropper one night when there was a powercut, carrying toddler son into the kitchen and tripped over our black Labrador who was asleep in the hallway, heaven knows how I saved him.
Really not looking forward to Boris's announcement tomorrow even though things are not too bad here, cases have gone up but not as in some of the university towns, anyway better go and make a cuppa ready for the tennis.
