Just to add to the boring tea strainer thread, mine is almost identical to the one on the right that you have LL mind you it's 47 years old and was part of a stainless steel teapot, sugar bowl and jug that we had as a wedding present, works perfectly.
Lovely day again here today had a great walk and met my friend for a coffee and have managed to clock up 17500 steps and a real bonus as I didn't get wet today !
I use micellar water on my face and quite like the idea of the baby muslins I don't mind a bit of hand sewing either maman, something quite satisfying about it, so I may get some when I'm in Asda next week.
Sorry to hear that DH is not so good pixie hope the doctor's appointment goes ok.
I feel really sorry for the students I really think that if my DD had just started at uni then I would have been going up to rescue her if that's what she wanted, it's bad enough being away from home for the first time.

All from my garden. Going to dot them round the house. Brighten everywhere up. Remember. “Flowers are nature’s Chanel”. 😊.9

Good to see you still checking your posture Maman👍. It is so important. We have to protect our backs and avoid the dreaded widows hump. 😂 I have found that doing regular yoga, pilates or tai chi are great for Improving both posture and balance. As we age maintaining a good sense of balance is really crucial if we are to avoid falls.Pixie Sorry to hear your husband has fallen, hope there is no long term damage. Such a worry for you.Part of my husbands illness was a susceptibility to falls. In fact a deterioration in his balance was one of the first early symptoms (that and slurred speech). He compensated by adopting a wide legged gait, rolling as he walked rather like a sailor adjusting to dry land. Bless his heart. In the early days he missed the kerb a couple of times but he just dismissed it as one of those things so he didn't even mention it to me. It was only when I noticed his speech that I realised there was a serious problem and started the investigations. I only found out about the falls and stumbles afterwards when he finally admitted them to me.Well done on the walking Maisie. Wow !! 17,500 steps. That is seriously impressive.6

Another gorgeous looking meal sugarbaby😋, and lots of variety. I batch cook pilau and brown rice for the freezer. It takes a bit of time but then I have my own microwave pouches for quick meals on busy days.
That's an awesome amount of steps maisie , well done. 👏👏👏
It's so worrying about the falls pixie, but glad to hear you've got a GP appointment. They're like gold dust round here. Whatever we're told the NHS really isn't open for business as usual . I do understand as I know they have to prioritise and life threatening issues are being dealt with. I'd just prefer a clearer more honest message.
We've been out for lunch today. Great to meet up with friends and conversation flowed. As I know places have to be well ventilated, I wrapped up. I wore black leggings and a long sleeved top under my Zara maxi shirt dress. It was a glorious autumn day.
Rain's back now though. ☹️😉7 -
Forgot to say, I love the dahlias. Those and Michaelmas daisies always remind me of the Harvest Festival in the chapel when I was a child. 😁7

I think I've posted before that, although I don't belong to the official thread, I am happy when I get to use things up. One of the things I'm working through is beauty 'freebies', products that have come with gift sets. I often buy Clarins and Benefit sets to get the main items like moisturiser or serum and other bits come with it. I'm working through body scrub which I wouldn't normally buy but use up on my knees, elbows etc in the shower. I finished one this week and started another today. Pleasingly it has bamboo powder as the abrasive rather than those plastic beads that have been criticised.
Yesterday's feature in my newspaper fashion pages was boots. There were two favourites this season: knee length (or higher) with all sorts of heel and toe shapes and flat ankle boots with chunky 'tractor tyre' soles. I worked it out that I own 7 pairs of boots so won't be buying any more! I will try to wear the ones I have more though. I have 2 pairs of knee length boots (brown leather and black suede), 2 pairs of smart ankle boots with heels (grey and black leather), 2 pairs of flat ankle boots (chunky brown and red almost cowboy boots) and then a pair with fur lining and laces that are almost walking boots that I wear in bad weather. I think that's enough!🤣
It's brightening here and quite mild. No plans to do much but I might read a bit later. I started a new book yesterday, just some chick lit but absorbing so far. 😊6 -

Good Morning lovely Ladies.😂🤣. I couldn't cook rice to save my life. I just make a complete hash of it so I am another one who uses pouches. But seeing as I rarely eat it, because I can't really digest it very easily, I just keep a few pouches in for guests, along with a few packs of cous cous and a couple of packs of pasta. I eat veg instead of carbs such as pasta, cous cous, or rice so I eat things like courgetti or cauliflower rice.If I want mashed potatoes I have butter bean mash or cauliflower mash. Potatoes have to be a rare treat too. It's a bit more of a faff of course but my digestive system is much happier so it's worth the effort. . If I go out and someone cooks me rice or pasta then I will eat it.......the occasional serving is ok but I just can't eat them regularly or my tummy rebels.Covid is running riot in Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham, Manchester etc so I'm wondering if it's just a question of time before Derby succumbs, we are pretty much an oasis In the middle at the moment but for how long? So I decided I would bite the bullet and do a quick whizz round Aldi this morning. I stocked up the freezer with fresh meat, frozen fish, frozen fruit and veg and bought several days worth of fresh fruit and veg, dairy, plus a few more tins and dried goods. From next week DS will do me a top up each week with their online shop, so I can hopefully get fresh f&v, milk, dairy etc. Although, despite being online regulars, they struggled to get a slot this week and have to wait until Monday. It looks like more people are grocery shopping online again. The sun has come out now and it's quite a mild day but I can't go out again just yet because they are delivering my new cooker later. Hopefully I can go for a walk after, if they aren't too late.I have 7 pairs of boots too, so I don't think I need any more just yet. 🤣. Or coats. I actually have two new coats that I haven't even worn yet. I bought them online last winter. They are both a bit long so I need to get them shortened first.Right coffee break over.Have a great day.7
