Moll, your poor Grandaughter, she's really been through it.Sugarbaby, well done on the weight loss.Well, you all sound like you have lots of coats. I could do with a smart wool coat for weekends if I'm honest.I dyed my eye brows yesterday. I buy the allure? kits.Feeling a bit tired, fairly busy at work, going to go and get my 40 lengths swimming in though!Enjoy your evening everyone7

Thank you Ladies,
I cooked whole wheat fusilli pasta with minced steak in a homemade bolognese sauce for dinner tonight. Now that the weather is colder, I prefer to have hot meals, most probably for the next 5 months or more

Ive managed to buy some more £1.50 fruit and veg boxes from Lidl for a few weeks now. They have definitely encouraged me to cook with more veg, as i try and add some extra veg to all of our meals (including some strange combinations).
Im now officially skint!! My lap top stopped working today, so I had to buy another one for work. My work have said they will order me one, but I don’t know when it will arrive and it’s either a case of use your own device, or work from the office. I save £30+ a day on travel and childcare and 3 hours on commuting through working from home. I should be able to replenish my savings once Xmas is out of the way.6 -
Chanie, why do laptops just stop working|? The positive aspect to your laptop breaking down is that you had enough savings to immediately purchase a new one. I hope that you enjoy working from home.5

Your dinner looks yummy sugarbaby. It's far healthier to make HM pasta sauce as jars have loads of sugar.
Shame about your laptop chanie. When I read the sums it's a no brainer why you (and many, many others) should want to work from home when you can. The new laptop will soon pay for itself on those figures plus all the time you save for you and your family. 😊6 -
I just got my flu jab done at Boots. I didn't take the bag to the charity shop as I couldn't be bothered to lug it on the train as it got quite full in the end. I did take a quick peek in a couple of charity shops. I got a black and white knitted knee length dress for £1. I keep going for black and white clothes lately.
I have been using a new moisturiser by Weleda and I really like it. I got some new foundation and cotton wool when I was out. I have been using micellar water to take off my mascara at night (works very well!) and I ran out of cotton wool.
We started watching a show called The Comey Rule last night, obviously about James Comey and the US election. Really good acting and very entertaining. Brendan Gleeson plays Trump.

I've just had my lunch and I'm about to finish my book this afternoon.

I made a stew yesterday, beef but with loads of veg carrots leeks onions celery mushrooms peppers. Ended up as about 6 portions instead of 2 or 3! I do love stew. I'm having it again tonight and freezing some. I think I might be a vegetarian if it wasn't for DH, he likes his meat but it is the least exciting bit of the meal for me.
Wednesday I've got a pile of books for the winter, I spent birthday gift vouchers on them. Quite a variety from biographies to mysteries, I just need to ration them as I can go a bit mad if I get into a book and be up till 3 am powering through it. I don't want to get through them too fast.
Chanie sounds like a no brainer to get the new laptop, the 3 hours a day commuting would swing it for me never mind the cost.
The weather is miserable here, wet, grey and windy. I was going to go into town but it doesn't look worth it. Covid is getting worse here, still relatively low I suppose but we have had such low rates up to now, the students in Exeter seem to be responsible for alot of it. It is making me a bit more wary about going out.
I've got some work on Thursday but just a couple of hours, it will do me good to have something to motivate me.
Moll I hope your GD is doing OK.6 -
Eventually a fine day in fact quite sunny, managed to get soaked for a couple of days.
Really hope your GD is doing well Moll she sounds such a brave little girl and certainly deserves her Lego.
Sugarbaby my dinner was almost the same as yours, except I used penne pasta and like you made my own bolognese sauce with lots of celery, mushrooms and onions. I saw that Mary Berry suggested stirring in a spoonful of redcurrant jelly to balance the acidity of the tomatoes so I tried it, not sure if I could tell much difference.
Your dancing sounds like good fun Maman and having something to look forward to does lift your spirits I'm so pleased our yoga classes are still going.
Looked at the coat link Wednesday and now debating if I need another coat, DH would say no but I will see.
I think I could cut out meat too Pixie your stew sounded like one of mine with loads of veg great to put in the freezer.
Think it's going to be fine tomorrow so meeting my friend for a walk and a takeaway coffee , better take my umbrella just in case.
Glad you got a new laptop sorted chanie and forgot to say the headband was fab.

Lessons you asked me a while ago about tea strainers. I had high hopes for the green one, as I like a strong cuppa and it has a plunger to squeeze the leaves. I found it difficult not spilling the leaves everywhere and it popped open when I plunged it and the leaves spilt everywhere. The one is the front was from IKEA and whilst it’s a good idea, just to be able to scoop the Tea leaves straight from the box, the leaves got caught up in the rim and it made it difficult to close.
Ive now concluded that a basic cup sieve strainer, like the one in the back is the best. It’s wide enough to spoon tea in and easy to remove the tea leaves.I hang my head in shame for the most boring post ever😂.
im back in the office tomorrow, which I’m looking forward to, as I’ve struggled to work without a properly working laptop. My laptop was due to be delivered this morning and I’m still waiting for it, despite paying for express delivery. I was on a call with my boss today and I told him I had problems with my lap top and he said that he still hadn’t ordered me one yet. This made me feel like I had made the right decision to invest in a new laptop.6 -
