Great news about your dancing maman, pleased that you are feeling brighter too.
Wednesday I have bought black and dark blue dyes to try and refresh some of my clothes that are still lovely, but looking a bit faded, any tips please on preparing washing machine and deep cleaning afterwards?
Sugarbaby your DM sounds an amazing lady, love the thought of her enjoying flirting.
BIL is back home, the big meeting between those who have been involved with his treatment is tomorrow, but not looking good, cancer spreading in lungs and quickly now in brain, all we can do is wait and hope.
Eldest DB has spoken with DM and told her that SIL has been taken poorly and that DS needs space to deal with things, DM not phoned her for several days which make me query how much of her behaviour was done consciously,
Dear Dog doing well ATM which brings much joy into the situation, we are realistic though.
Sunshine today - at last and had tea and scones at local garden centre, so nice to be within a different set of walls.
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)5 -
maddie I have used the machine dyes to refresh some black clothing. Once I finished dying my clothes, I wiped the door seal and then I put on the longest hottest cycle the machine has (empty). Then I wiped the seal again to ensure all traces of dye had gone. I avoid washing whites/lights/anything delicate for a couple of cycles afterwards. It’s probably OTT, but i so t want to ruin anything.
Tomorrow is my first solo day at work, as the person I have taken over has left. I was in the office 3 days last week, so I’m looking forward to only having to go in once a week for now. As a treat for finishing my first week, I bought myself this headband:
https://www.anthropologie.com/en-gb/shop/jules-gem-thin-headband?category=hair-accessories-headbands&color=027&type=REGULAR&size=One%20Size&quantity=1
Anthropologie make great hair accessories and I have a few of them. It’s a shame no one will see my wearing it, due to the restriction.
I feel fortunate that I prep for Xmas/birthdays throughout the year, as this has taken the pressure off of me being out of work, as we approach Christmas. DD8 made me laugh as she said that for Xmas, she would like a ‘dressing table..... and all the make up’. She is definitely a future fabber on this forum. I have seen a nice dressing table, which I think would be perfect as she could also use it as a desk. Plus, I have bought her lip balms, perfume etc for Xmas,5 -
I've wrapped all my Christmas presents this week, one DS due to come next weekend and the other at half term so their children's things will all be handed over. The other GC are local so no problem with them and my kids and partners are just getting money. My excuse is I'm only going out if essential so better for them to choose something they want. I don't think they will turn their noses up and if they do well you can't please everyone.
So Christmas presents done, plenty of food in and I'm ready for anything. Roll on 2021.6 -
That's a lovely hair band chanie. We've seen it and admired it virtually even if nobody is there to see it in RL. 😊
I've worn something similar to weddings instead of a fascinator/hat.
Have a good day tomorrow. I'm sure you'll do well. 😊6 -
Just been catching up on everyones posts ,
Maddie SO SORRY about your dog, ours is old and we love him to bits dread the day .............I really feel for you .
So much has been happening here , I havent been on the computer for awhile . Dont know if you can remember my GD whos 8 was waiting for a serious operation on her ear , ( A disease was inside and if not operated on it would have gone to her brain ) Anyway to cut a long story short , it got cancelled 3 times in all due to Covid, but she did have it done last week , and it didnt go well . The little bones to her ear drum was diseased and eroded , and they had to remove them , , , she wont ever be able to hear out of that ear again , for the rest of her life, even an hearing aid wouldnt work ,,,,,,,BUT we have to look on the positive , they "Think" theyve got all the bad ....... so it hasnt gone into her face , or to her brain , She has to go for normal checkups , then in a year have scans, if they didnt get it all she has to go through it all again , but they are hopefull and we are thankfull that she still has one ear working well , Shes been a real trooper , never complained or cried once , I must be naive as i assumed theyd do it by keyhole surgery , but they actually almost remove the ear !! Glad i didnt know that when she went in . They cut the ear all around at the back , peel it back to operate, then stretch it back over and stitch it back on , so she has a lot of stitches around the back and also inside, but shes been great , she even walked herself down to theatre !!! They did let her Mum go in with her till she fell asleep so that was good , but shes just got on with it , Id promised her some Lego when she got back and she was excited about that , and thought it great that she could stay in her PJ's for a couple of days , Wish i was so brave
On the fabbing front, i was swimming a couple of times a week , and enjoying it , but i got an email to say the government had given them the green light to open up the sauna and steam rooms , so im hanging back now ,,,,,,,,dont think that would be safe,
( Its a liesure centre in a hotel )
Also i have the track and trace on my phone, and the other day i had a text alert to tell me id been in close proximity to someone who had tested positve for Covid ................ and ive got to isolate for 14 days ,,,,,,,only place id been was the doctors surgery to take dad for a blood pressure check up !!!! Takes you months to get in to see a dr,,,and then that happens , Cant win , I feel fine though but have been isolating anyway , Stay safe everyone , and keep up with the fabbing , It will make us all feel better xxx6 -

Maddie - I use the dylon dye and it doesn't damage my washing machine. You do one 40 degree wash with the fabric and the dye container. Then you remove the container and run a 40 degree wash with detergent and then remove the fabric and wash again at 40 degrees to clean the washing machine drum.2025 GOALS

I get the Mumsnet emails. I am not a parent but I signed up there after that was the site I finally found information on how to get rid of my fibromyalgia. I thought if it had such helpful information like that there must be other pearls of wisdom on there from the women!
They send me emails what other women on Mumsnet are recommending to buy.
I just saw this if anyone is interested. 15 Best Winter Coats for Women UK 2020 | Mumsnet
I am actually good for coats this year. I have my new black trench coat, my new purple coat and a faux leather jacket from the charity shops recently. I also have my blue boucle coat and a black warm coat in there. I also have that black shirt dress I was going to use as a coat. I do need to go through our wardrobes today, actually to weed out what we don't need. I will do that after breakfast and my bath.

moll I remember your original post about your GDs operation. Sorry that it didn’t go according to plan. Your GD is very resilient and I’m sure she will have a bright future ahead of her.

Good morning lovely ladiesMoll.....your poor little granddaughter.....what a brave little girl.Shoulder pain this morning so just a quickie, then a soak in a hot bath to loosen up, followed by some exercises. It's raining again so probably the damp isn't helping. I'm going to have a nice lazy catch up day, a bit of domestic goddessing, cook a nice casserole for tomorrow, a bit more wardrobe organising and some fabbing. I'm currently sat here with a face mask on, so multi tasking. 😁I'm going to start packing a suitcase, ready for when I get the call, just in case DIL goes into labour sooner rather than later. 😉.Other than that nothing much happening here. All diy on hold for now.Love the hair band, Chanie. Good luck with the job today.Hope all is well Maddie. These are trying times for you.I have a slight cough, but seeing as I've been isolating for over 10 days now, and was taking care before that, I have high hopes that it's nothing nasty. Only time will tell. 🤞
In the meantime, stay well and keeeeep fabbing,5
