Moll I'm so glad she got the operation at last. I've had a child having an op 4 times, 2 of my kids having 2 ops each. The youngest was 3 so he didn't understand at all, the following year when they wanted to do it again was a different matter. I think it is such a hard time for the child and the parents, it is no lie to say you'd rather go through it yourself than watch them. I hope her recovery goes well and that you can see her soon, the 14 days isolation is a real pain but I'm sure it will soon pass. Good luck.4

Hello Ladies,
Moll your granddaughter has so much courage and she will face whatever the future holds for her.
Chanie that hairband is gorgeous
Pixie well done on being so organised with your Christmas presents.
Finally lost another pound in weight so I am currently weighing 16 stones 6lbs. Better than staying stagnant.4 -
Why stop at Lego, your DGD deserves a medal moll. What a sweetie. So pleased to hear that it wasn't as bad as it might have been.
Is your concern that more people will go to the leisure club as they open up more facilities? I'd have thought they'd have a Covid safe limit. I know that applies to my dancing classes.
I'll take a look at that link Wednesday. I have plenty of coats but three of them I would replace if I found something similar or better. I'd like a longer duvet coat with a hood. My long wool coat is old but I've never seen anything worth replacing it for, mine has a shawl collar that doubles up as a hood. Finally my black quilted biker style jacket is really smart but while it is waterproof it doesn't have a hood either. So the search for hoods seems to be a theme😉. My hair hates the rain and the only hooded coat I have is my Puffa parka . That's great but very casual.
That's good news about losing another pound sugarbaby. Your healthier eating and home cooking is paying off. 😊
I think stews and casseroles always taste better the next day LL. When I make Bolognese and chilli I never eat it on the day. It seems to marinate even in the freezer.
I'm feeling a bit tired today. No idea why really as I haven't done much. 🤔

I just looked at the winter coat link Wednesday.
Pleasingly, my Puffa parka is still in fashion.😉 I tried on a Joules duvet coat last year but, maybe because I'm 5ft 9, it just came to my knees. I want something calf length or even longer. If we ever get back to football again , I want something really long that I can wrap around my legs when I sit down. The smart coats from Next and Boden are similar. They're fine until you're outdoors in really cold weather then they spilt apart when you sit down making for cold legs. I might take a look at the Next one as it says it's a wrap but brands tend to skimp on fabric these days and call it slimline!🤣4 -
Chanie and Wednesday – thank you for the tips re dye, Chanie – love the hairband, so pretty.
Moll your GD has been through so much, hard times for all your family, but she sounds a tough little nut and I hope that she will do well.
LL – I hope the bath helps with the shoulder pain,
Pixie – It must have been so hard to see your dear children have to face multiple surgeries.
Sugarbaby – great news on the weight loss, every pound counts.
Feeling weary today, OH and I have done some house tidying, I have mixed up a crust less quiche, loosely based on a Slimming World recipe, but with extra calories as I am struggling to keep my weight up again. I have been reading one of my Nigella books this week and will try and make some Chocolate Buckwheat cookies to make best use of the oven, GF, but not remotely healthy as contains melted chocolate, sugar, butter and chocolate drops, I eat very little sweet food (lost the taste for it), but really do fancy these.
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)5 -
Maman you are fortunate that your dancing classes have resumed. I hope you keep on enjoying them.
My salsa classes did resume some weeks ago, but now you have to go with a partner and as I did not have one, I was unable to re-join the classes.5 -

I do Scottish dancing and our teachers have adapted dances to make sure we social distance and don't touch each other. We also have to stay within a group of 6 each week but we can swap partners in the group. It's quite ingenious and we're getting really good at it.6 -
Glad to see you are still dancing Maman. So am I, but in my living room. 😂
I have now been in self imposed isolation for 2 weeks, although to be honest, even over the summer when restrictions were lifted and people were getting out and about more, I didn't really do much other than go food shopping, attend the chiropractor sessions and have a couple of haircuts. I did manage one visit to a cafe but even then I was alone and sat outside. I haven't socialised with anyone other than family and one close friend who is also sheltering in over six months now. And even then I've only been able to see DS2 a couple of times.I have to say I will be relieved when the baby is here safe and sound and I can hopefully relax a bit -at least see my DS2 again. Then perhaps after Christmas and heading into spring I can start to widen my horizons a bit. It's a good job I am independent and happy enough in my own company. I don't think my husband would have coped very well with six months in what is not much better than solitary confinement. He would have been climbing the walls within a week. 😂 I'm doing ok but it's a long haul.
Its a miserable day here, damp, dark and depressing. I'm a mass of aches and pains, despite my soak in the bath and dutifully doing my exercises. Perfect day for a trip to the cinema or a mooch round the shops........hey ho.......one day. 😌.I need to summon up some enthusiasm and start thinking about Christmas.......My new cooker is being delivered on Thursday so at least I will be able to cook the turkey this time. 😁.6 -
Ps meant to say......SUgarbaby, well done on the weight loss. Your dedication is paying off.5

I have to venture out tomorrow to get my flu jab. I have had a quick look through my wardrobe and I have at least 4 items to donate so I will drop them off as well while I'm in town. I was wondering whether to get a taxi but I think I will just go by tube.
I've been reading a lot the past few days, mysteries and spooky books. It feels nice to curl up and read indoors, especially now the heating is on. It feels very cosy. If I have to be inside so much I may as well relax and try to enjoy myself as much as I can.
I'm thinking about my husband's birthday next month as I want to make an effort this year and buy him something he will really like. I usually get him something dull like clothes but I want to pick something more interesting this year.
I'm getting my hair cut at home on Thursday. It feels like it really needs cutting again.
