Those really are smart shoes sugarbaby. Wedge heels are great if y on a grass surface so ideal if we can only socialise outdoors. 😊6

I bought some opaque tights today ready for the winter
It has turned chilly here in Cornwall. I turned out my underwear drawer and sorted it all out and got rid of my old tights from last year! It's made a lot more space and I can see where everything is now instead of having to hunt through it all first thing in the morning.

Maman don't get me started about the app, I'm feeling rebellious and definitely not downloading it as I think it's a complete waste of time. I know whose company I have been in for 15 minutes or more as I am only socialising with family and friends and certainly not using any public transport. Pixie they can't stop you from entering places as lots of people still don't have a smart phone. A friend downloaded it and said it drained her battery but until this shambles of a government can get themselves together then I won't be downloading, sorry rant over.
Sugar- nice shoes look very comfy and stylish.
Chanie- hope the new job went well .
Wednesday- I don't think I had better watch Why Women Kill, the mood I'm in may give me some ideas !!!!
Glad your daughter is improving Sheila, we had a scare with one of our GS but thankfully was negative.
LL glad you have made the most of this good weather it's looking pretty awful by the end of the week.
Had a great walk this morning and did just over 16000 steps but don't expect I will be walking too far in the wet.

Fab shoes, SUgarbaby.I'm feeling really pleased with what I have achieved today. Finished scraping out the debris on the drive then applied a propriety patio cleaner. Wasn't sure I had enough, but then found an extra bottle lurking in the shed so was able to do the paths and steps as well. A good job well done. 😁. Pulled out all the easy weeds from the gravel so tomorrow I'll slosh some weed killer down on the more resistant ones and that's it. Everywhere nice and clean and weed free ready for the winter.Boiler serviced today. I wanted to pick my plumbers brains before I ordered my new cooker Because he will be fitting it, so I can crack on with getting that sorted now. He hadn't seen the finished kitchen (well nearly, just need to paint the plinths) and he was well impressed.Keeping my fingers crossed I can get the outside painted then I'm going to treat myself to some new planters. I've got loads of bulbs to go in. I might even have a splurge and get some bay trees for either side of the front door. Dead posh!!! My baby Christmas tree has really taken off and is thriving And is now big enough to decorate with fairy lights this year without looking silly.Quite the flurry of activity here again, lots of house fabbing. It's starting to look pretty good, even if I do say so myself.😁Got a huge punnet of mushrooms cheap the other day, so mushroom "risotto" tonight. I can't eat rice too often so I use tinned spelt instead.......so cheats risotto really but it's dead easy and the spelt gives it a nice "nutty" taste. Aiming to eat veggie meals a couple of times a week. Apparently my cholesterol levels are a bit on the high side, so less red meat and dairy and plenty of veggies.I was offered statins but I refuse point blank. I prefer to try and tackle it by adjusting my diet rather than just popping pills. Better in the long run. My dad took them, too many side effects for my liking. Anyway If I can shift another stone the cholesterol will come down too. It's not dangerous but obviously it's best to nip these things in the bud.Didn't do any exercises today, but cleaning that paving was a good cardio workout......
I worked up quite a sweat. 😂😂
Loving the idea of brightly coloured tights......I think it's nice to match tights to your outfit, rather than always go for black. I bought several new pairs last year which I never got round to wearing, still in the wrappers, so I'm pretty well stocked up but I might be tempted......😁 with some burgundy ones.7 -
Mushroom Stroganoff here tonight LL. 😁5

LL Your comment about statins rang a bell. My partner was automatically prescribed a fairly low dosage a few years ago following his heart attack (apparently it’s standard procedure). After a few months he decided that they weren’t doing him any good and, in fact, he started to get cramps in his leg at night, which he attributed was caused by the statins. He met with his GP to stop taking them. Luckily, she was the type of GP that actually listens to her patients and she agreed to reduce the dosage in the first instance. The dosage was reduced and eventually he was able to come off them for good. His diet has always been pretty healthy so I don’t understand why they were automatically prescribed in the first instance. How are you doing with your weight loss? We have a similar amount to lose (10/12 lbs?). My weight gain was as a result of being inactive due to recent retirement and being somewhat inactive during lockdown. I’m finding it very difficult. We do, on balance, eat healthily and eat from scratch most of the time and although I don’t exercise as such, because of my sciatic pain (especially the debilitating pain in my right leg) I do try and walk as much as I can. At least I’m not gaining but I DO want to lose these few pounds to feel more comfortable in my clothes. I know I will feel a lot better within myself when I’m back to my normal weight.
Chanie - I hope your first day back to work went well.Sheila - I’m glad your daughter is on the mend. It must have been a worry for you.
Pixie - how is the house clearance going? Your husband’s paperwork trail made me wince 😩. My OH was just the same until I persuaded him that if you bank online you can always get back copies of bank statements/credit card statements etc. Of course, he already knew this but just liked to keep paper copies just in case 🙄. For an intelligent man, alas, he is is a bit of a “Luddite” and nothing will change him. However, he’s getting a lot better in his old age, thanks to me😁5 -
I had cod, salad and veg for dinner. The cod was frozen and very bland. Overall 5/10. Some healthy meals that are simple to make are so dull.
Your meal options sound so much better.
I avoid as much fat as possible after the operation, I would imagine that would help with the cholesterol and my levels of oatmeal consumption. However, it can be converted from anything within the body. Metabolism is amazing, building up and breaking down what we need or don't. Some people just make too much. The doctors put people on them as the charts actuaries develop base average life expectancy on them verses not for the average person.
It takes motivation and perseverance to do healthy interventions, I guess the actuaries don't thing motivation is average.
It's gone so cold. All the summer is gone.
I'm gonna do a quick declutter tomorrow. Why keep what I did not use this summer.6 -
I've got loads of summer clothes I didn't wear this year sft, but that was because I didn't really go anywhere! 🤣 I just took out a few things from my summer box as needed. There were things I planned to buy for my holiday but that didn't happen - the shopping or the holiday., ☹️ Hopefully, next year will be different. 😁
We're having cod tomorrow but I'll do spicy cauliflower steaks with it so it won't be bland. 😊 Sorry you didn't enjoy yours tonight.7 -
I survived my first day at work!!
The morning commute was very quiet, but the evening was much busier. We go into the office on a rota, so there was only a couple of us in. I’m going in again twice more this week, in order to spend as much time as possible with the person I’m taking over from, but from next week, I’ll only be in the office once, or twice a week. I wore a grey empire line dress with burgundy tights and suede loafers. Tomorrow, it will be 1 mile wear, as I’m working from home.8
