I too try to make extra food and freeze a portion, just having pasta with some left over chicken tonight , with sauce and a bit of low fat cheese on.To be honest dont find it hard to get a lot of steps in due to work. I walk around a lot so can get the lions share in during the day! swimming or dog walking gives me extra 3 or 4k. My challenge finishes tomorrow.8

maddie sorry to read you have a lot on your plate at the moment. I hope things improve soon.
Floss thanks for the shredder tip. Is there nothing that WD40 can’t do? My problem is that our shredder overheats after a while. I normally do my shredding at work l, where I can. Otherwise, I just do small piles at a time and wait for it to cool down.
pixie And Masie i was saying to my Mum that no matter what the government says, people will ignore restrictions on Christmas Day and are likely to meet in larger groups. I’ll be interested to see how the government plans to deal with it.

Maddie - hope things improve soon for you.
I made chicken. I marinated the chicken with yogurt and loads of spices. The chicken was tender and spicy.
I made baked oatmeal for dessert. I used a good dash of sugar-free syrup to sweeten it and a spoon peanut butter powder.
I am feeling better today, I didn't have to dose myself with decongestants. Sometimes you just need to rest.
I ebay a lot. The charity shops near me try to overcharge- basically what Primark sells for 4 they stick a label on it for 12! A lot of the clothes are not great. I bid on designers whose clothes fit me as have bought before. I stick to certain brands only and limit it to under 10 always. I have had a few disasters and a few issues. However, I have gotten brilliant bargains and a wardrobe that I could not want to pay full price really.6 -
Floss thanks for the tip. DH is a WD40 addict so I know there will be some in the garage.
Chanie hope work is still going OK, I agree Christmas is going to cause some issues. I have to say a quiet Christmas does have some appeal for me. I do like seeing the family but having all the GC staying for a few nights plus some of my kids and their partners plus others in a local hotel means I am cooking for 16 with all the chaos from GC from preschoolers to teenagers can get a bit much. I wish everyone lived close and it could be a bit less intense. Oh and the vegetarians and fussy eaters don't help. Maybe I'm being a bit bah Humbug.7 -
I don't think you're Scrooge like at all pixie. I'm philosophical about it all, Que Sera as LL says. I like the relaxation, good food and winter walks every bit as much as festivities so we'll enjoy ourselves whatever happens.
I had a really good pampering session this morning on top of my usual shower. I've put a deep conditioner on my hair and done a defuzz as well as all the creaming. The podiatrist recommended I use an antiseptic spray weekly to ward off any fungal infections so I've done that too. I've cut my finger nails while they were softer and will complete the manicure later.
Winter coats featured on the fashion pages today. I noticed that those 'teddy bear' coats are still around so maybe I'll buy a cheap one if I see one. I should have ignored DH when he put me off buying one a couple of years ago. It was the sheep noises that did it! 🤣 I noticed duvet coats are still around. I wore my cheap Matalan one loads last year as it's so light but still warm.. If I see a longer one with a hood I'd buy one of those too.
It's grey and miserable here today and the rain has just started so I'll not be venturing out. I had thought of going to Asda for the ballet pumps but it can wait.

I went into the local town centre again today. I went into two different charity shops and to Holland & Barrett. I was looking for some grey boots but I didn't find any. I did buy a black and white tunic, a black cardigan and a black hand bag. Only £6 for all three.
It's funny but I feel like life is getting back to normal from getting out and shopping more. I can see it isn't because of all the masks but I'm getting used to going out in public more. I wonder if we will have another lockdown where I live this year.
I wore all black today. My black sundress, a black New Look cardigan, black tights and boots. Leopard print necklace. The black boots were more uncomfortable than I remembered so I only got in 5000 steps and got the tube there and back instead of walking.
I'm going to read Top Sante magazine this afternoon as it was delivered just now. I'm going to make a pot of green tea and I treated myself to a hazelnut chocolate bar from H&B.6 -
Hello Ladies,
Maddie I am sorry that there are major issues that you are coping with at the moment. Feel free to off load on this thread if it will help you in any way. You do not have to worry about bringing the mood down, we can all support you through this difficult time if you want us to.
SFT having a maximum budget of £10 per item on eBay obviously works for you. Herbs and spices really make the difference to chicken.
Purple Pixie much as I love my family dearly, I have outgrown large family gatherings at Christmas and thankfully so did my two younger children a few years ago. So for the last few Christmases it has just been the 3 of us at home, which suits all of us and we end up having a stress free Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. So I totally understand your desire to have a quieter Christmas.
Wednesday you have bought some really good items of clothing in your charity shops. Much easier on your budget and the environment. Unfortunately although there are a plethora of charity shops in South London they are over priced and have too much Primark and other fast fashion clothes that I would not be interested in purchasing.
I got a full refund from an eBay seller today as when the top I bought arrived today which was listed as a size 14, it was actually a size 18. The seller did not even want me to return it at their cost, so I will wash it and then donate it to one of the local charity shops. The eBay money back guarantee always has the desired result if there are any issues when items arrive. This time the seller made a very human mistake which was quickly resolved.
When I was walking home with my Lidl shopping from the bus stop a woman stopped me and offered to help me carry my bags of shopping. I thanked her, but smiling refused her offer. I am used to carrying bags of shopping each week from Lidl, as all of my Lidl purchases saved me money. I could make life easier for myself and just buy everything each week in my online grocery order, but I always try to look after my pennies, so that the pounds are there to add to my savings account.
