pixie sorry to read about you and your husbands injury’s. I hope you both recover quickly.I got a leg wax today. I was surprised to see that the salon was threading eyebrows. But as they were, I got mine done. They had good hygiene practices and everyone had to wear masks.7

Thanks everyone, his arm is sore but it isn't bleeding anymore. I think he is going to have some nasty bruises but doesn't seem to have done any serious harm. Really annoying as tomorrow was the first day I was booked to do some work, I just do a bit on a consultancy basis my job was HR and I support small businesses with things like policies/disciplinaries and that sort of thing. I have done some online work during lockdown but tomorrow was the first face to face work. Fortunately GS has said he will come round so it should be OK. Nothing is ever straightforward is it.
Candygirl that sounds like a fun outing, I bet your Mum loved it.

pixie glad to hear your husband is improving. Best of luck tomorrow. He will be ok with GS for him to think he is minding the GS. (the reverse is true)
LL - its true we accumulate issues if we don't deal with them sooner than later. All the niggles and minor stuff that we ignore come back to haunt us.
I spent all day doing so much that I'm shattered but I got a lot of bills sorted out, suppliers changed and haggled a few new deals. I guess I saved at least a bit money.7 -
LL what a nice ethos this thread has and everyone is always very supportive even though we are all at different life stages and have different priorities. Of course the main one is feeling fab through self care, whether physically or mentally. 🥂
Glad to hear your visit to the chiropractor went well, it is a worthwhile investment. I find that I feel good for the first while after an adjustment but then can get a bit achy until the next day.
Pixie I hope you've recovered from your shock earlier and that your husband is feeling ok. Have you tried arnica cream for his bruises? It's magic stuff.
Maman I forgot to say before but I had a look at the Nobody's Child website and they have some lovely stuff at very reasonable prices. I didn't order anything this time as I'm trying to be good but will definitely look in future. 😊
My fabbing recently has been more to do with the garden than myself. I've been planning out a hedge for the front garden as we have a strip of grass that has no physical barrier, it is to the side and in front of our living room window but is the back and side fence of one of our neighbours. So the back of their house is to the side of ours and they have grass that runs round the side of their house outside the fence and around the corner to where we are. It all sort of merges into one bit of grass but the neighbours always make sure to cut the grass right up to the line of their fence and no further. 🙄 😂 They also slightly extended the fence a few years ago to square up their garden, helpfully blocking our view of the top of the street from our living room window.
Anyway there's a narrow area between their back fence and the side of our house just past the living room window and last month I noticed the neighbourhood kids running down there. They weren't doing anything, just playing but it reminded me that we need to get hedging sorted to form a barrier between our house, the neighbour's fence and the long strip of grass that runs to the side of their house. So the hedge will almost be a backwards L shape running down the side and across the front of our grass at the edge before the pavement.
I finally decided on mainly cotoneaster franchetii hedging with some red dogwood for colour in the winter. I've pre-ordered bare roots so they won't be delivered until November. We'll hopefully be able to prep where the bare roots will be going around a month before, so digging out the line, removing the grass and adding some compost, clay breaker and fish, blood & bonemeal to get the soil nice and healthy for the new hedge. Looking forward to it as I always enjoy a bit of gardening. 😊Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Im playing catch up as i havent been around for a few days. but i will get round to reading all the posts ive missed.
Sad day for us today , Our DD had to have her dog put to sleep , She used to have him for his holidays when his owners went away . and loved him so much , The dog loved her too , In the end the owners emigrated to Cyprus and didnt want to take the dog , A. because he was old , and B because of the heat , Sammy is a samoyed,,,,,resembles a big fluffy polar bear, so DD asked if she could have him , and they lived happily until today , Unfortunately age has beat him , but he will be sadly misssed. This covid has caused so much heartache though , She had to go in to the vets alone , and had to carry him out herself after, Luckily she has good friends and neighbours , who all rallied round , 2 of the men prepped the burial place the night before , 2 women friends drove her car to the vets so she could sit in the back with him. and strange offers of kindness are coming in , one friend is an artist, and wanted to paint / draw her a picture of him , another asked if she had any fur , as she could make her a key ring to keep , and another ,,,,,,,, dont laugh .............bought her a bottle of lucazade to make her feel well ( The thought was there ) Others have treated her and the kids to a chinese takeaway tonight / Its the little things that get us through isnt it ,
Weve not been too bad during lockdown , found plenty to do , and if everyone would stick to the rules i think we would be safe, its just the village idiots that spoils it ,
I have pen pals , thats my hobby , but people i write to have been doing lots of hobbies to keep them occupied , and a lot have learned new skills from You Tube , so maybe thats another option to look at for hobby ideas, if we do get a Winter lockdown
Enjoying hearing all the DIY jobs everyone is doing , Right off to read more of your posts6 -
I was just wondering where everyone is from / Just the area,,,,,,,,,,,,,Im in Derbyshire
We get the veggie boxes in our local Lidyl , Not all the time , but at £1.50 a box , its worth it . I love them , I once got shouted at by the cashier girl for putting stuff i didnt like in another box,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i could have understood it if i was swapping , or taking out of others,,,,,,,,,,,,but putting in ? so now i just take whats in the box and get rid of what i dont like7 -
Pixie so sorry to hear of your husbands fall , I know you struggle sometimes with lifting etc, so hope you are ok
My DH has had a ( Very) bad back for about 6 weeks , to cut a long story short,,,,,,,a phone call doctors appointment......he sent him for an xray.... that showed osteo artheritis in both hips.............then a phone appointment from physio ????? to be fair she was good and between them came up with a few exersises to try,,,,,,,,, then a friend recommended a chiropractor hed used,,,,,,,,so DH made an appointment and went ............ WOW he was brilliant , after a couple of minutes he said hed got a torn ligament , & parsial hip displacement , among other things ,,,,,,did a bit of bone alligning ,,,,,,,,did accupuncture,,,,,,,and then a hot stone massage ,,,,,,,,and ok he wasnt completely fixed but he walked out a new man , 100 % better. The Chiropractor reckons it will take about 6 weeks , but the magic words he used was "Its fixable" , He goes back for his 2nd appointment in a week ( Every 2 weeks ) . DH said i ought to go , as i have problems with my spine ............but vanity is keeping me away , Ive put a lot of weight on during lock down , Think i want to shed a few more pounds first, Remember i was asking opinions about the Leisure Centre , Well theyve contacted me , said the pool and gym are opening next week , Nothing else , but the pool and the jacuzzi .......are allowing 8 people in total at a time ( Only 6 in the gym) 2 at a time in the changing rooms ,????? Its a small indoor pool , Im not sure if im comfortable with that , having 8 people in ? but i do need the exersize, and the swimming was helping my joints, They reckon the chlorine in the water would fight any infections ? is that true . i dont know , And ive heard on the news that outdoor pools are opening , but not sure if that is indoor too ????? I paid over £300 just before lockdown for my membership . so a lot to lose but i want to be safe, They are freezing it till August , while theyve been closed , so my memebrship will start again from then for a year

I'm wearing my new navy blue altered maxi dress today. It's a Grecian style, I think it is called. Surprise, I'm wearing a navy dress.
I had a cool bath this morning and did a clay face mask. I cut my toenails the other day and I want to paint them red at some point. I need to get some of those toe separating things. I think I have some cotton wool balls so maybe I can use them instead.
I have been exercising on my trampoline around 11 am for about twenty minutes a day and it's making me really hungry! I stepped on the scales and I haven't gained any weight so I must be burning it off. My back does feel better. My hips and thighs were really starting to ache from lack of activity.

Of course each one will have their own particular measures, and each of us will have our own opinions on whether we want to.
I will be happily jumping in, but that's my personal risk assessment as someone with no underlying health conditions who is back in the office a couple of days a week.7
