For anyone selling stuff I use the SPHOCK app. It's easier than eBay, n I often get people collecting items, as posting stuff is such a faff 🙄 Haven't been doing this during lockdown, for obv reasons, but have loads of stuff to get rid of soon x"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

candy Bonnie looks fab in her doggie jumper.
Helen Tiger Lily is adorable. Can I borrow her?
maman did you get your hair done in the end?
im now in the final stretch of decorating. Just need to finish off the bay window, which I will do by the end of the week so that we can enjoy OHs annual leave.
I have been trying to cut down on the food bill as the children are eating too much junk, food prices have crept up since Brexit and we all need to get healthier. Here is my latest veg box from Lidl. I’m really pleased with this one as it had lots of different types of fruit and veg in it (including some bananas).

Chanie.....is there a set day for the veg boxes. You're right, food prices are definitely rising.5

Pleased with my hair. 😁💇♀️ It's cut in a blunt bob now just below my ears, about level with my lips. Previously it was chin length. I gave my hairdresser a generous tip and thanked her for how well her great cut had seen me through. 🙂
Off to Petworth tomorrow. I certainly feel better when I'm doing something 'normal'. Aside from the obvious, I really enjoyed my hair appointment, we had a good chat and it was good to go out for something non essential.6 -
Helen I don’t know there is a set day for the boxes, but they don’t always have them when I go. I think Sunday is probably a good day as the staff have more time to do them due to Sunday trading hours.Or maybe try a different store. My theory is that they only do the boxes in stores in ‘nice’ areas. The store we go to does them, but the two ‘rougher’ stores a couple of miles down the same road, dont seem to do them. They are after the checkouts, so they aren’t in an obvious place (I read somewhere that when the boxes were being trialled, people were swapping the items in the boxes).
I have a ‘corona kit’ for my car, which included hand gel, anti-bac spray and a cloth and 1 solitary disposable face mask. My sister gave me a wad of gloves and more masks, so I made up packs for me and OH to keep in our cars, in preparation for mandatory face mask wearing.
i also received an email from my laser clinic stating that face treatments can be done from 1st August. Just wanted to share in case anyone needed any treatments.6 -
Hi all, I have been lurking along but every time I try to post a child seems to need me. 🤷♀️
Chanie well done on the painting and great news on the kitten, your DD will be thrilled.
Candy your Bon is super cute, I would love to have a dog as well as cats but want to wait until I have more time.
LL I have used Ziffit before for books and found them pretty good. They tend to offer a bit more than music magpie for the same items. It was very easy to use the app to scan barcodes on the books and then just drop the parcel off at the local shop using collect plus. I would use them again. Also what a cute kitten, what kind of cat is she? 😍
Sorry to hear your chiropractor appointment was cancelled, I have been going to a chiropractor for years now.
I was so glad that I already had a reliable chiropractor after having my son as my back and pelvis were a mess after having him. He was a big baby (9lb 13oz) and I had a 47 hour labour (only about 16 hours active labour to be fair) that ended in a forceps birth. It was such a long recovery and I was in so much pain with my back after the epidural. It wouldn't have occurred to me to see a chiropractor after giving birth if I hadn't already been a regular attendee. It wasn't cheap but it was very worth it as she realigned everything over an extended period, I was visiting weekly at one point.
I only realised how tough my son's birth was on me after having my little girl last October. My recovery was so much quicker and I was in much less pain overall, my labour with her was only about 2 hours! Quite a difference to the long, slow first labour that then stalled.
I'm actually booked in to see my chiropractor next week and really needing it after a few months without. Hopefully I'll soon get back to my 3 monthly maintenance visits.
My sister is a beauty therapist/make up artist/hairdresser and I was talking to her about the dark pigmentation I have on my forehead, around my eyes and on my cheekbones. I think it's melasma, I've had it for around 6 years now and it definitely got worse after 2 pregnancies so have been using spf 50 and vitamin C serum to see if it fades. I think it's looking a bit better but it's still quite obvious. My sister said she can try dermaplaning my face if I want as it might help too so will take her up on that when she can fit me in & is allowed to work again.

Good morning lovely ladies.Great to hear from you sashybo. Glad to hear that you've had good results with chiro. I'm hopeful it's going to be successful for me too. I'm feeling very positive about it. Can't wait to get started and feeling better. Hopefully tomorrow. Yes childbirth can indeed be rough. Your experiences echo my own, first one was awful, second was actually quite pleasant by comparison. 😂. The things we do for love. 🤔
had a bad night, shattered this morning, so cancelled my eye test. Just couldn't face it. On the plus side because the skies were so clear I got to see the Neowise comet and a few minutes of The Perseid meteor shower. Awesome.Good to hear about all the haircuts. I really must do something with mine. But what. 😂. I like the longer length but it's so baby fine and lacking body. Maybe I should try and persevere - I've got this far.Lovely day here, going to potter in the garden and enjoy the sun. 😎8 -
Sashybo I had a similar experience with a 10lb baby and a damaged pelvis and hip. My problem wasn't labour, strangely it was my fastest labour but he had been lying to one side and putting pressure on my hip, for the last months of pregnancy my right leg kept "disappearing" and I'd fall over. Of course I thought when baby arrived it would all be fine. Well months on I was still having problems and eventually saw a specialist and the view was I had MS. A woman I knew at work kept telling me to see a chiropractor and in the end I thought why not? After the first treatment I stood up and felt normal, I was gushing thanks and the chiropractor said by that night I'd be back in the same position as before and we had to train everything to stay in place. My husband's employer paid for me to have 6 treatments so I saw the chiropractor the next day and then every other day and when the money ran out we found the money to carry on eventually seeing her weekly, then fortnightly and then a monthly appointment for 3 months. It was a long haul but compared to MS it was a walk in the park. I have thought about seeing a chiropractor again, maybe when things settle down I will.
It is a beautiful day here and I think we might go out, just can't decide where to go.8 -
LL - I know so many women who had a long/terrible first birth but the second was much easier. I also know a few lucky ones who had great births each time and just had no problems getting their babies out! My MIL had forceps without an epidural (ouch) to get my DH out as he was 10lbs plus. 😱 So I think I was lucky that both babies were only 9lb-ers!
I had a great pregnancy with DS and a hard birth and a much harder pregnancy with DD but an easy birth. 🤷♀️ I would love another but DH says no more because he can't take the stress. 😂
the purple pixie how scary that they were leaning towards diagnosing MS. 😱 My DS always liked to go towards my left hand side, I had a very lopsided bump and he turned back to back during labour as well.
My mum was nearly forced to take medical retirement in her 40s due to her back pain as she couldn't stand for long periods and is a nurse. She went to a chiropractor in desperation after months of physio that made her worse and the chiropractor diagnosed and fixed her. Her pelvis had been out of position ever since she'd had my brother and he must have been around 11 or 12 at this point! The chiropractor said she sees so many women who have problems due to being out of alignment after giving birth.
I think if you find a good chiropractor they are worth their weight in gold. My sister sees an oestopath for her back pain rather than a chiropractor, I'm not entirely sure of the difference but she prefers it having experienced both. 🤷♀️Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. sashybo I was a bit taken aback with the MS, they admitted me to a neurological ward for 2 days for tests but were still unsure. I asked my doctor what he thought of chiropractic and he said he didn't care if it was voodoo or black magic or all in my mind, the important thing was that I was OK and of course that was true. My son was the opposite to yours, he was all on my right, it was weird I had a flat stomach on one side and the right side was this big bump right round the side. He was an awkward baby and always did things his own way.
I think my labours were unusual, first was a 9lb baby and no pain killers needed, I couldn't understand what the fuss was about, next was almost 9 lbs and I was going down with flu but didn't know, home delivery and it went on and on and midwife was too worried to leave me, , 3rd was the smallest and ended with an emergency c section, had to have a general as it was too urgent to wait for an epidural and then the last one, I was over due and went in to be induced only to be told I was already 5 cms dilated and hadn't felt a thing, he did get stuck so ended up with forceps but anything to avoid another c section. My doctor said I should write a book as I'd experienced just about every scenario for childbirth, home birth, high tech hospital, c section, forceps, induction. I think the only box I couldn't tick was the epidural.
I think lots of women suffered after childbirth, as a child it seemed like every woman had incontinence problems and it just seemed to be accepted as normal after having a baby. Of course the big question is why did I do it 4 times? Must be mad.
