Good morning lovely ladies.moll.....sorry to hear about the dog. Very sad.Well I have had a very productive morning. Sorted out my energy renewal, sticking with EDF because they offered a good deal. Did some Online shopping, vitamins, more clay breaker stuff, a couple of books for DS1s forthcoming birthday. And all in my pjs from my sofa. Aren't we spoilt. 😂
Right off to give myself a face mask, cook brunch and then off to chiro later, followed by a quick whizz round Asda. And that's another day.😂.6 -
Very sad news about the dog moll but how heartening that all DD's friends and family rallied round to support her. 😊
I think there probably is some truth in the chlorine reasoning as the science would be similar to washing hands, wiping surfaces and Donald Trump drinking bleach! Sadly, his remark was sensible in that it would kill the virus but it'd kill you first. 🤔 Plus, any virus would be massively diluted in that volume of water. I don't think you're the only one that's put weight on during lockdown either. Although the chiropractor is an excellent idea, losing weight and using your joints will help you too. I'd go for it but it has to be what you feel comfortable with. 🙂
Interesting reading about Unilever's lockdown performance figures today. Apparently they've done well with cleaning products, hand sanitiser and Ben and Jerry's ice cream but not well enough to offset the drop in sales of hair products, make up and deodorant!! 😮 I don't think that's quite as revolting as it sounds but it does make you think. 🤔
I don't think I'm going to bother with any more clothes shopping this summer, I'll manage with what I have but I do envy you the maxi dresses Wednesday. For every day wear I've got a couple of loose, floaty summer dresses and one's in the wash and the other needs ironing. ☹ It's really hot and sticky here today so I'll have to wear a shorter dress. There's one dress in John Lewis that I fancy but I don't fancy the price.

I don't think it's worth about £100 more than my Nobody's Child one. Perhaps I'll look on there. I want long and floaty but something more summery than black and white. 🤔
Off to do my food shop later, with masks at the ready! I've had some in my bag for weeks but never been asked to wear one. I haven't a problem wearing a mask but I don't think it's going to help the High Street. I think the days of the shopping experience/retail therapy have firmly moved online. I know I'll just be buying essentials and get out ASAP.7 -
I got a Joe Browns catalogue through the door today and I saw a really nice red polka dot dress but when I looked it was sold out. I did order a retro navy polka dress instead, lol. I must be trying to recreate my convent school uniform.
I ordered a size 16 as I think the tops I bought from there last time were on the smaller size.
Sizing is very annoying these days. I am usually a 12 at Dorothy Perkins as their clothes are on the large size.5 -
Meet our new addition, DDs kitten.

Lovely kitten, I do miss having cats and dogs. The last time we lost one, our old rescue dog who was 19 when she died, I said I couldn't do it again. DH is still trying to change my mind.
I've had a terrible stomach upset, not sure if it was the upset with the fall but very happy that I'm on the mend. GS has been a star, teenagers definitely get bad publicity and he has been such a help.
We've had a lovely few days down here but it looks horrible tonight, hope it picks up tomorrow6 -
Awww what a pretty kitten
Thanks everyone. I think i might go swimming and see how it goes, Its a booking system , so you can see how many will be in the pool .My DD gave me 2 pretty maxi dresses today , I dont usually wear them , but think theyll be ideal for putting over my swimsuit to drive home , and i can shower at home and maybe avoid the changing rooms Im just a 3 minute drive from home5 -
moll- I went swimming already, thing opened up a bit earlier last month and the leisure centre listed its water quality results. Everything was zero and it listed multiple bacteria. I am very cautious about stuff and was nevertheless comfortable with the set up.
maman -The chlorine disinfectant damages living cells significantly as you said; I fear some people will cause damage to themselves or others. you hear some stuff that strikes fear in ya these days. It is a very corrosive substance- last year I watched a documentary that followed a woman who drunk it as a child and the level of scarring in her oesophagus was frightening- she had an average 3 operations a year to keep it open. The doctors had to replace part with a 3d printed version. It was amazing.
A lot of make up was not really needed as people were inside and no nights out. There are no events to layer the make up on for. I wear it daily that been said and others keep up with the fake tan, its important for morale.
wednesday- I wonder if sizing could be done to a universal standard. Its so frustrating. I tend to stick to brands I know if I've bought online because I know how they fit. returning clothes online is worse than returning them to a shop.
chanie - sweetie! what a lovely cat.
I have started to try and doing some exercise- I really fell of the wagon and find it hard to resume in full. It is a faff to book ahead for swimming and gym but so be. seeing the mortality associated with obesity in covid is very motivating. I gained 2 kg back in a few days- hell it seems to be trending down but weighting after I eat is terribly demotivating. I am hoping tomorrow will be better.
