Just spent today by the seaside with DD1. A bit of a drive, a detour via the swedish store, then lunch and a long walk then some ice cream and pop to cool down. Then 30 minutes delay on the Motorway as someone's car caught fire in the heat. British summer in a day for youI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Been a while - just got super busy and visiting offices as they open up (3 in a week), which feels reckless but everyone is still keeping precautions. The driving is leaving quite tired when I get back so just been sat outside and Telly instead of keeping busy when I get home
Weight - is flat, which I am amazed at - really positive to know what steady state looks like. Just the slight problem of another 10 kilos to go to my 200lb target.
Money - in control, not added to CC or overdraft, but has been a very spendy month - I guess I have been eroding my EF. if you recall I moved it into my current A/C to stop worrying about OD but maybe that's not the best idea. will have a think. Got a a few days holiday booked in Manchester next month visiting with some old friends. That could also be a bit expensive, so I am going to abandon trying to get CC paid off in August and leave it to September, which will still give me some time to save for xmas. I see my DFD slipping when I just be doubling down but its just been so good to get out and have a little fun so maybe was inevitable loosening up lockdown would loosen up the wallet.
Exercise - after a great start to July I kind of tailed off again just through lack of mojo/motivation, but been stepping it up again and have made 5000 everyday for the last week and am just going out when I've had a coffee. But my target was 10000 a day for July, and I would have to average 30000 for the last week and that isn't going to happen.I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

I mentioned my OD in the post above, so just thought I would mention I am 1 year in the black as of a week or so ago. I should give myself a shiny star (any colour but red)

I should have mentioned my DD2 in London starts work on Monday. The job area she wanted, albeit a lower starting grade than she could cope with, but you got to be in it to win it.I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

In other news DS1 organised, sorted out and paid for his own car repair. even though it was nearly £300, This time last year would have been me.
Plus today was a London day and walked from the station to work and back, plus a longish wander at lunch means I made it over 20000 steps for the first time in a long whileI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thank you @savigholmes - the same as yours really, a year goes by for the kids and its all the same and then in a month it all changes, usually for the good.
In other news, I went out to do some walking while I was listening to another work briefing 2 minutes into the walk it started pouring. so a quick scamper home and managed to avoid a soaking but steps low today as got some after-work work to do so cant get to the gymI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Sounds like you're doing really well mate. Some ways upping the steps - get out the office a few times a day. Just 10 mins. I am 'lucky' to get out most days on jobs so steps not a massive issue but on the days I am in my office all day I set my phone to remind me every 2 hours to just get out for 10 mins else I can sit for hours and hours.
Reading about your kids being the age they are idk it makes me think life moves too quickly exciting for them though. Just my own realisations I'm getting old and have a lot of regrets ha.3 -
je ne regrette rien is a great song, but I don't see how you can get past 30 without regretting some stuff - for me its not the big stuff like trouble or romance, its mainly being financially stupid - like when I moved after 3 years in my first house I was persuaded to mortgage for 25 years. I would be MF by now but for that decision.
I know what you mean about popping out from work for 10 minutes, and I have tried, but I don't like it - its either too short as a walk or too long as a break, however I have started walking during some corporate and informational webinars (usually an hour) - and that is helping.
Really though I just need to pull my finger out. New month new mojo, so am writing this just back from the gym, 6km on the treadmill (took an hour so not speedy) and 2km on the rowing machine in 9minutes. Nearly at 10000 steps alreadyI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

@mark55man mate you're doing ok if your biggest regret in life is a slightly longer mortgage term than you'd have liked.
You'll get there with your steps mate. Just keep at it, some days will be better than others how it is. Are you at your maintenance weight now? Iirc you were doing some version of the 5:2 diet and lost a lot of weight in total. I've got 3kg to lose to be back to my pre rehab weight at least I'm down 1.5kg from when I weighed in after Centre Parcs. Might try to bin that off over August just being sensible with the cals and monitoring exercise. Generally failed a bit with exercise myself the past week so need to get back to it.2
