I pref treadmill too mate - it is hilly around here though so there's my excuse. Enjoy running 5km but any more have to be really in the mood for it lol.

13/13 - very nearly didn't make it - I had a  call late at work, that banged on for so long I had to change my plans.  But went out at 6:45 and did a forced march round my route to get most of the way there then some pottering around (its bins day sp a lot of toing and fro-ing)

Not a NSD - just popped to the shop on my way round to get some spinach for the curry - result! spinach was the only YS (30p) left in the shop!, topped up a few other things so only £10

14/14 - Went to gym after a hard-stop end to WFH at 4pm - did a slow warm up, then 5k alternating fast walking and slow running and then a long cool down.  Had my HR close to max recommended for most of the 2nd half, which makes me think I might regret it tomorrow !!  But I was sufficiently faster in the run to end up faster than my previous runs which gives me confidence for next time.

Have got a few days next week going up North with our besties and then when that is done we may have to go up even further North to see OH dad who is struggling a little at the moment.  So our friends are big walkers/doers and Scotland is a walkers paradise so I'm not expecting too much trouble keeping on target its just a change to the regime and a lot of driving - but I'm sure I can find time to do a few walks

Sounds great on the exercise front.

I thought about the gym today does that count? Seriously - they have restarted a health programme for me that I began just before covid lockdown - so I will get  afresh 12 weeks for what I paid over a year ago now... So I might have to actually venture in and do some weights and use machines and perhaps go swimming again. That will do me good I'm sure...

I'm exactly in your shoes, but maybe 14 days grin and bear it further on.   Exercise is 50% in the mind, so you are in the right place, just getting the thinking done first.

Swimming is great relaxation, but I don't find it great exercise, but my OH does.  My DS wants me to do weights as it is really good for you, and a good focus for mindfulness in the gym, and I will get round to them.  But just now, I am enjoying the treadmill/walking/running and I seem to do things best when I do one thing at a time.

I'm loving being outdoors at the moment and in the gym group there is an outdoor pool which is fab. I need the weights machines though to do something for my arms and all the muscles that walking doesn't help much with. I find swimming really increases my range of movement and flexibility so while on paper it may not be good at calorie burning - it is good in other ways.

Swimming is great the day after a really good run. It takes away the aches and pains.
