Hello OSHDTH - well it was less ambassadoring and more playground supervision but I enjoyed it and would recommend it - just a storm in a bath tub really
welcome back hope you are still going strong
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

So this week has been a roller coaster
* Monday - tax refund (stupid rebate) - nearly £2K - I had not told the Rev about a change in my working patterns so was paying too much tax
* Tuesday - some bad family news (distant but important relative)
* Weds - family visit - always nice
* Thu - Nothing happens
* Fri - one of our cats clipped by a car and now well on way to recovery after well over £1K of work.
Ho hum - at least she is fine, and thankfully the driver or a neighbour had the decency to take her to the vets straight away.

Oh no, poor kitty
Fingers (and paws) crossed here for a speedy recovery. Hopefully a less eventful week ahead!

I have just flitted through your diary and good to hear you are on the final countdown to retirement. You won't regret it I am sure.
Great news on the tax rebate but sorry about bad family news and kitty.
Shame you are no longer an ambassador as you were definitely a voice of reason on here. I did not know that the MSE forum team have an issue with signatures. Thank you BCNS - keeping an outdoor kitty indoors is almost more stressful than dealing with her being injured.
Who knew that a cats jaw was not all one bit of bone but more like a kneecap and who knew that stringing a bit of wire through to fix it all cost £600.
We did think about insurance for both of them but we do actually live in a quiet area so decided to self insure. I think break even is now 2027 and longer if they need anything between now and thenI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thank you ES - I think I just don't agree with volunteers being told to act like employees. I can see it entirely from their PoV I just don't agree with it and dislike being managed by anyone but my boss and I'm not entirely sure if I like that if I was totally honest.
I appreciate your other comments as well. The ambassador thing well it was nothing more than a waft in a water-closet
ETA: Your signature was fine - they just wanted their message at the top front and centre and everything else underneath - as you know my signature reflects the 5 years song and I have become more than a little fond of it - plus all the numbers which I lost when trying to keep it all of a sizeI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

I didn't know that about their jawbones mind you! I'll have a poke about with PD and have a feel - she's quite obligingWill keep fingers and paws crossed that no more vet trips needed in the foreseeable future

If it's any consolation my cat costs £14 a month to insure and that was with a huge co pay.
Hope your cat recovers quickly.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you - at least when you self insure there is no copay!!. I found similar rates although it was also what I wanted to do so didn't look too hard in the market
Plus this morning when the outdoor curfew was ended, she just wanted to sit on my lap and stop me working!! so all is normalI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
