    So bit of an update
    • :smile: Energy refund in my bank a/c
    • :disappointed: Am 50,000 steps behind target (only 250 extra a day to catch up - which I will)
    • :disappointed: Am midway through helping OH sort her savings out but having issues with technology
    • :angry: Am nearly back at starting weight - but not quite
    • :smile: My youngest and GF are making good effort at redecorating their new rooms and am helping a little
    • :sunglasses: Had good father's day - beer, chocolate and socks - what could be finer!!
    • :smile: Still waiting for OH charity expenses then that's all the current frog list despatched

    I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
    Drinking milk shakes, cold and long

    :smile: Steps improving - 2 days over target out of 3

    :sweat: Some savings frogs for OH on the point of consumption - been a bit of an admin nightmare

    :neutral: Unexpected toad on the horizon - some additional care for youngest that was aiming to be free at the point of commitment may need to be paid for but we are kind of committed now - which be a low 4 figure dent.  Feel a bit played but its will make a real difference so will have to prioritise that

    So lazy/stupid tax - well apparently it works both ways.

    The technical difficulties mentioned above associated with my OH savings were loss of bank card (which we needed for 2FA device).  All of which took so long to resolve including new PIN (stupid/lazy) that when we had our hits (anag) together we had to reapply as the funding window had closed.  On reapplication the 1year fix interest rate offer had gone up by 0.7% so net result is when its all done and dusted we will have £70 extra returned to the kitty in 2024

  • *waves* hello Mark - been a while but I’ve made my way back to MSE-land, and catching up on posters I’ve missed! Will read back on the thread, but hope all is well!

    hey BCNS - *waves hello* and carries on chatting like you had never been away.  I can summarise my diary - suddenly, nothing happened.  except .... kittens (now 1 year old madams) - hope your feline friend PD is thriving

    Lots of stuff about steps and an absolutely hilarious interlude as an ambassador, but broadly 18 months older and not much wise - but closing in on retirement if the world just stops its penchant for crises

  • Thanks for the summary! Hooray for kittens! PD is still thriving and dipping paws as much as ever - my coffee splattered walls will attest to it :) It’s nice being back, will pop in more frequently :)

    Had a few days WFH but got up early and finished early in time to do some frog eating
    * All savings now sorted so won't have any more admin - we decided to put £5K in premium bonds as the return is OK and its reasonably quick access
    * Quite a lot done in the garden and ready for friends to visit tomorrow
    * sorted through wardrobe and some clothes are now headed to charity shop/recycling
    Next frogs
    * Passports
    * Declutter

    Also this is roughly my 3 year anniversary of kicking the overdraft into touch - yay
