  • I'm the same as you Vulpix, I am very cack-handed doing crochet, but it gets done slowly, and I like the look of it. It's very thick though as I'm just doing single crochet.  Still that's what I want really so I can sew bits on and know they're not going to come off if tugged.

MrsSnowy last year I didn't count my makes, just chatted and updated when I did or didn't buy things, and finished bits off. This year I am counting my makes as I think I might make a good number!

Declaring 4/52 after I finished a Valentine's day card (after hubby got home from work- I was waiting for him to tell me if he had got me a card! Such romantic people we are). I went wrong on my knitting and don't know how to unlock it properly :( I will look it up, if I can't understand it, it will have to wait until I go to see my mum again. On the upside, I have started hand sewing the quilt I was making together. Thankfully it's a small one, full of different textured fabric for my son to play with. I have never done applique stitch before, and it's not 100% perfect, but there's nearly 50% of the stitches I've done that are properly invisible, so I am very pleased with myself! I'm 1/3 done, and then I need to do some hand tying, and then it's done! A year in the making.
I'm so glad that this thread is helping emsi_b. That's exactly the reason I set it up for - so we can all encourage each other and feed from one another's creativity.
You and your hubby sound like me and mine -neither of us are that romantic so sadly this year I didn't make valentines cards :(
Well done on the quilt - it sounds amazing. I have never managed to grasp the art of invisible stitching  so I am in awe of your talent :D:smiley:  :D:smiley:

  • The waistcoats for OH's birthday are delayed - nearly ran myself into the ground last weekend trying to finish them, only to find that the one that was nearly finished was too small and the neck didn't sit right !   :s

I'm leaving it a bit until the urge to burn the lot has passed - I should be doing paperwork today as a respite!
Absolutely right decision wraithlady - making things should be fun and not causing more stress. Hope you are feeling better today x

My friend chose the lilly of the valley material,it's vintage laura Ashley.I chose the other material. The quilt had to be that size as that was all the LA material there was.She chose the pattern too. It is the 3rd and smallest quilt I have done.I think I have just one more quilt in me!
I undid the knitting twice as I thought it was knitting up very tight on the needles reccomended.Using bigger needles now and just doing my own thing. Not done anything this week as we went to Edinburgh for a few days and my son is visiting now. .
    That quilt is stunning vulpix.
Hope you had a good time in Edinburgh and enjoyed your son's visit. I've not acheived much this week either as its half term so willget back into crafting again once the kids are back at school.

I am a very basic crotcheter.I apparently crochet more like I am knitting but the effect is the same.I have only ever made blankets.
At the moment I am knitting a pink teddy bear wool baby blanket.I occasionally get the urge to knit so make baby things and send them to the hospice when they have a big coffee morning. A friend of a friends daughter is expecting a baby and asked to see what I had made.I sent a bag with 2 jumpers,2 cardigans and a blanket for her to look at and she wants to buy the lot, I don't usually sell stuff.I have no clue what to charge but to get some money back for the wool is ace.
When the blanket is finished I will have a go at making a seat cushion for a chair from the roll of underlay.I will make some covers from stash material.I am having a major spruce up of my kitchen before the house goes up for sale.#whatamess.Sold a large storage cupboard so need a cull and find new homes for what I am keeping.
    Vx
    Thats amazing vulpix. Congratulations:)
Crochet isthe next skill I wouldlike to learn as it may use up some of the wool I have lying around as I definately cannot knit and there are only so many pom poms I can make :)

  • I am finally able to declare a further 14 makes to my total so I'm now up to 244/2020 :)
    I have made:-
    6 cards
    A gift tag
2 cross in my pocket for orders
10 x sticker sheets for order but counting as two makes as two different designs
1 x social media planner (which used up a large wire binding I have had for ages)
A wooden heart hanging I've made just for me using some gorjuss papers and toppers I have had for ages and wanted to save for "something special"
I'm also counting a cardboard sheild my son made as its used up some paint and foam from my crafty stash so it may be cheating but its stash used so its being counted :)

I can finally contribute to this thread again. I managed to get in my craftroom and clear a desk. I did accidentally put everything on the other desk but we'll forget about that bit 😂 I desperately wanted to start sewing again so i found a kit for a fabric basket. It was quiteeasy and now i have my sewing addiction back. Oops. Think I'm at 5/35. Sorry no idea how to change the colour of the numbers and i hate this new look forum 😂
    Comping for christmas x
    Thankyou to all posters:D
  • Glad everyone is doing OK, managed to finish my dress, and starting some PJ bottoms tomorrow.  Am still working on my redwork heart and two quilts. I can't stick with one thing at a time, like to bit and bob here and there. Have also stamped some images for colouring but not got any further with them.  Do miss crocheting as used to love that, I'm another one who couldn't hold the hook correctly and looked more like I am knitting.  Didn't seem to make any difference to the finished item though:) . At least am making some inroads in my stash, not that it's noticeable yet.  Have used three reels of thread, also not obvious from the amount still in my box!!
