I am currently looking to buy a fire extinguisher and fire blanket tomorrow. So I am content to use it at 20 degrees.
Here is my question again: Please help if you can:
Can anyone who has been offered a machine about 52.2 cms deep please tell me the model number so I can check it out. Thanks!
My replacement slim depth machine arrived today, same as splanK s replacement.
I would say it’s slightly shallower than the shallow one it was replacing so don’t worry it will fit.
If you are able to disconnect yourself I would do so, I had a pair of clowns turn up. One had been doing it for a week the other was his first day. Neither had a clue what they were doing.
Thank goodness we had disconnected ourselves before they got here.0 -
Please can you help TillyCat123 and SplanK? The argos website Q & A gives the measurements as
Size H85.0, W59.5, D54.5cm
But the Argos sales blurb site states
NSWM743UWUK
Size H85.0, W59.5, D51.6cm
54.5cms would be too big for my space. My existing machine is 52.2 deep.
Would you mind very much measuring your machine, front to back, including the bits sticking out at the back of it and letting me know what the measurement is please? Sorry to ask you to do this but I cannot take the chance that machine will not fit. Many thanks indeed.
Am thinking of just buying it from Argos paying the 100 pounds to get it fitted, and disconnected, and not taking chances with Hotpoint sending clowns! (I could then sell the new on as SplanK did. ) But only if I can verify the actual measurement from someone who has the machine.
We cannot disconnect it ourselves. Too old and decrepit to crawl on floor and pull out a very heavy machine with virtually no space to grab it by and try to thread piping and a electrical lead through a tiny space adjacent to sink.0 -
I know with my Bosch there were 2 measurements, one included the door front, and the other didn't.
The measurements I posted are from the Hotpoint website, but I am not sure if that's including or excluding the door as they don't say. You will need to look up maybe the manual, or some other technical guide which gives you a diagram with measurements.
Best thing I can suggest is to wait until you get an offer as the machine I got may not be the one you are offered. Then look up the tech specs of the device on offer for the measurements. You could always see if the model you have been offered is on a showroom floor somewhere like at Curry's and take a tape measure. No point worrying about it yet!!0 -

I tried to call before mine was delivered to get the measurement clarified as like you I found it different on different sites and I needed to be sure. Nobody could help.
It is the measurements on their website that are correct, it’s exactly the same as the one that you are returning so don’t worry 51.something
They can’t all be clowns on the delivery team so hopefully you get a better pair arrive.0 -
I have just had my Hotpoint Washing machine replaced with an Indesit one.
My "old" circa 2017 had programs which took a lot shorter time to wash and did not specify that liquid detergent had to be used for the majority of programmes.
Do I have any rights to insist that they give me a Hotpoint machine, as I don't consider that I have been given a like for like replacement?Regards

Delivered, fitted, removed the old one.
this one..
https://www.hotpoint.co.uk/h/laundry/washing-machines/hotpoint-nswm743ugg-washing-machine-graphite/f158171
there is 30min and 45min full load wash, as well as the normal super long eco washes. Depth 55.5cm(back of the top to front of the door, declared is 54cm)).0 -
Since the arrival of my sub-standard machine I have been tweeting whirlpool to see if they will consider swapping the inferior machine with one of the same quality and programs that my old machine had.
They are adamant that I had a choice of machine.
I did NOT have any choice in the matter.
I am most annoyed with their cavalier attitude.
They are not offering like for like replacement.Regards

@mikewill34 I suspect Hotpoint's view, and probably the law's too, is there was a choice between accepting or not accepting the offer. I won't call it "rejecting" the offer because they made it impossible to express that view. See my earlier post on this thread for the silly way to get another offer out of them.Once a new machine is delivered you might need to argue the process Hotpoint has used is unfair. It's clearly designed for prevent negotiation and as Hotpoint have other recent experience in recalls I'd expect them to know how to manipulate people into taking the offer Hotpoint wants. Ultimately they benefit from making us feel like there's no choice as they save money. Please do report back if you have any success. For others I'd recommend not accepting an offer if you don't like it - hassle them on the phone, write to them etc, to say why you reject the offer and they must make a like-for-like offer.0

Well replacement machine has broken down after just 2 weeks. I have to wait for an engineer to come in a week, then if needs replacing I have to wait again. I’m so cross, I spent ages on the phone yesterday but to no avail, can’t do anything for me until someone’s been out.
so no machine again. For weeks!0 -
I’ve been waiting nearly two months. No email, no phone call. Getting tired.tillycat123 said:Well replacement machine has broken down after just 2 weeks.
