Whirlpool washing machine (branded as Hotpoint or Indesit) recall launched

So I have one of the models listed though I haven't been able to access the website yet to check the serial number to see if I'm affected.
The machine was bought on finance from Currys around June 2015. Assuming my machine is one of the problem units, I have zero interest in waiting weeks or months for Whirlpool to fix it and just using it purely on cold wash is a non starter.
Would I potentially be able to pursue a section 75 claim with the finance company given this issue obviously existed since purchase and look to gain a refund through them? I can speak to Currys first but suspect I will be directed to Whirlpools recall information.0 -
I don't know the answer, but I suspect that after 4 years of use there'd be a hefty amount knocked off for use up till now if you were successful. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I know I just have to use mine, there is no option other than to dump it, and buy another machine.
Seems like Whirlpool saying this is more of a case of them covering their a**.
Just read news from BBC. Here is Whirlpool quote
"When the heating element in the washing machine is activated, in very rare cases a component in the door lock system can overheat, which, depending on product features, can pose a risk of fire," Whirlpool said.
So it probably better do cold wash only if you have to use it.0 -

Also, I would advise that you don't use the potentially faulty equipment when you're not present 100% of the time it's in use, and/or at night. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0 -
Copied from the praise, vent and warnings board
My machine model number is on the list, and when the recall website started working again this afternoon, I typed in my details. When I then entered my serial number, it announced that my machine was unaffected. I took a screen shot, and thank goodness I did, as the promised confirmatory email has not arrived. Just a warning - take a screen shot.0 -

Same as above a sigh of relief as though machine is on list, putting in serial number has the come back that its not affected, though no email as yet.
Like above I have done the screenshot.0 -

Also on the list, I did take a screen shot but there is no reference number or anything really to confirm you have reported it.0

On the list doesn't seem to indicate that you are definitely affected, you have to put in serial number it seems to confirm one way or the other.0

I wouldn't trust them as far I could throw them.
I read that some of the replacement tumble dryers for the problem ones also ended up on the list of problem ones! I checked mine again recently.
I certainly don't trust a broken website to assess that the tumble dryer is fine. Not sure how to deal with Whirlpool on that front though.
We will eventually be moving house and the plan was to replace them both then, but it may just happen earlier and I'll wipe my hands of any of their brands forever.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
