Whirlpool washing machine (branded as Hotpoint or Indesit) recall launched

There are days I think the domestic washer & dryer industry is in league with the launderettes.
Weeks without a machine. Over Christmas. I wonder if the hospitality industry could offer an additional laundry service?
Also what about hospitals, care homes, nurseries? Fingers crossed their kit is the industrial end of the market & unaffected by this.0 -
From what I can see, my model number is rsa 845jx UK
This is not on the list, can't help but feel a little worried to use it still after this recall, can it really be that much different to the affected ones?
If it's not on the list there is no reason not to continue using it. The part involved would have been used on a known range of machines, not all machines.0 -

That was my first thought too, but it is in this instance.0 -
Its ok for whirlpool to say Stop Using Your Machine, but who realistically can, though one needs to be there in case anything does happen?
I know I just have to use mine, there is no option other than to dump it, and buy another machine.
Seems like Whirlpool saying this is more of a case of them covering their a**.0 -
Mine isn't on the list but the door locking mechanism looks and sounds exactly the same as the one that was shown on the news yesterday.
The machine needs replacing anyway as the bearings have gone and it sounds like it's about to take off but...Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

From the little I've read I suspect it's not the lock but the way it's wired in.
Sorry people, I left Hotpoint in 2001 & it's just not been the same since.:DTall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
