Woohoo happy 2020 everyone! I'm back in and hoping to extract 2020 items, last year ended up with some pretty big things going and decorating the lounge, so can hopefully do the same again this year IF I can keep up with myself :j
First point of organising was a To Do book in Wilko, which is saving me writing on bits of paper and having them hang around.....or losing them down the back of the desk and not knowing what to do, or my Malamute eating the darn lists!!!!:o So 4 lists went into recycling!!!
Edit: oops and forgot the 8 magazines and 15 bits of paper sorted from a random box of papers!!

Hi all!
I love reading about other people's progress. I’m always impressed by the amount of decluttering that’s been done. I'm ashamed to confess that I seemed to spend almost all of yesterday decluttering nothing but my sinuses! I’ve just bought a new Anti-bac spray (Method, so it’s supposed to be less damaging to everything.) Unfortunately, I seem to have reacted badly to it.
Lying there feeling sorry for myself did give me a chance to define what I’m counting as decluttered. Obviously I want to reduce the amount of stuff I’ve got by rationalising what I’ve got and getting the rest of it away either via a CS/Freegle etc if it’s useful and recycling/binning it if it isn’t. BUT…
I’ve got a whole other category of “stuff” that’s clutter at the moment and would be thrown out, but which can actually be repurposed instead. The sort of thing I mean is, eg, I had 4 mugs that were ‘cluttering' the mug cabinet. Now 2 are acting as scoops for litter/bedding for the rabbit and 2 are by my bed – 1 holding medication and the other things like a pen, hairbrush etc.
So, even though I've still got them, I've reduced my clutter by 4 items IYSWIM... Has anyone else categorised stuff like that? Or is it just me? (It's just me, isn't it? :rotfl:)
I did take a leaf out of newlywed’s book yesterday – I decluttered my bedside cabinet from my bed! (It's actually a repurposed corner TV stand that gives me a shelf for my shoes underneath.). So the day wasn’t a total loss.
Having got rid of the clutter – and given up trying to work out how some of the bits and pieces ended up there - the area is now clean and shiny. The stuff that should be there is corralled in a basket and 2 re-purposed mugs and easy to get to.
Better get off and get a bit more done. My 15 minutes declutter of cleaning stuff means under the sink is COMPLETELY EMPTY! :j But I have plans...
Yesterday's efforts decluttered:
15 x Re-usable produce bags (Opened and used but not allocated a place)
1 x Pack of re-usable produce bags (2nd set for ‘determined to be plastic-free' DD)
1 x Bundle of paper/envelopes etc to recycle (haven't the cheek to count individually!)
1 x Wodge of assorted bits of rubbish (See paper)
4 x Mugs (Re-purposed)
2 x Cleaning caddies inherited but no longer needed
DAILY TOTAL = 24
ONGOING TOTAL = 52A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!
