Woke up late and wasn’t feeling motivated. But read a bit of this thread and so cleared out my bedside cabinet drawers (aka messy drawers according to OH). Thought I could clear out and tidy up whilst not leaving my bed
Started a new charity bag. Found a new tea infuser put aside a long time back to give as a gift so decided to gift it to me!
Put aside a couple of things to take to work (another tea infuser) yes I love tea and try to reduce plastic teabag waste.
Filled a small bag full and deposited it in the bin.
Then cleared out my makeup box (no recollection of how old my lipsticks are...:eek:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?1 -

It’s good to be back, Mrs S-D. I’ve missed reading about your exploits too…
It’s all well and good you laughing about the Christmas tree– you didn’t have it lurking malevolently in the corner of your living room, exuding an odour of cheap fruity flavoured fabric conditioner with a top note of tom cat… To be fair to it (why?) I was the only one who found the smell quite so offensive, but to me it was like an oversized rather smelly porcupine.
When I took off the decorations a pile of needles appeared out of nowhere; and, as we’re in a 1st floor flat, I wasn’t looking forward to dragging it through the flat leaving me to de-needle the hall carpet as well as the living room. Plus I’d’ve had to sweep the stairwell and downstairs lobby and leave a trail like a mouldy slug all the way to the bins. So I didn’t. Fortunately, we have access a verandah from the living room. So I dragged it onto there and tipped it over onto the grass below. Unfortunately it was only the one floor – but it was still deeply satisfying! _party_ :rotfl: DS then dragged it across the grass to the bin area.
Even DD agreed that we’re never having one like that again. She only took one of the chocolate decorations off. Normally they gradually disappear between Christmas and New Year. (Her brother’s diabetic and prefers dark choc anyway, so she gets them all. Tragic for her, I know…) Self-preservation! As it was, the darn thing shot needles at you every time you went near it. I ended up with one stuck in my foot under my toe- and I was wearing trainers! – and another in my bra.
Aaaahhh, I feel better now…:D
I’m back at work and am taking decluttering things slowly. So far I’ve managed quite a few of the challenges, but I’m not sure how well I’m going to be able to stick to it. I did a major overhaul of the kitchen myself last year so it’s fairly organised, whereas my bedroom absolutely isn’t. And I’m not prepared to wait until July to tackle that! Perhaps use it more as guidelines…
Here’s what I’ve done since the beginning of the year – which is not an impressive total so far:

[FONT="]Mushroom Slicer

[FONT="]9 x Assorted knives, ladles, spoons etc

Chest of drawers done....
Why I have petticoats and clothes 4 sizes smaller than I am now, I have no idea. Gone in he charity bag and if I do ever get there then I shall enjoy shopping
Also did the bottom of the wardrobe and decluttered a load of dust... discovered a box of chocolates I must have put there whilst we were eating healthily... expired 9 months ago so decluttered into the bin (since obviously I don’t need any extra calories in any case)
OH just asked if I was unwell or something :huh:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?1 -

Hope your travel plans get sorted.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?1 -
Hope you manage to sort out the checking in and have a lovely hol, Mrs SD!
Business decluttering is going well, 16 kilos posted over the last three days, taking the total so far this year to 70 kilos. I have emptied a couple of boxes in my stockrooms, more could be combined to empty others but there's no point having a major reorganisation at this stage while stuff is still going out. I am having ideas about how to relocate some of the storage shelves into the garage, which is sorely in need of a major declutter - but that will have to wait until a bit later in the year.1
