Please can I join I badly need to declutter my conservatory as it has become a dumping ground. I intend to sell a lot of books and ebay lots of items i bought when manic
I have a lot of health issues so plan to tackle them gently but I made a start this afternoon and got rid of a tin (i like tins but this one had a dent in it), some tags with buttons on (i intended to use the buttons but realistically I won't), some boxes. I am also in the process of enabling my Amaz0n account so I can list the books. Im afraid I can't afford to give them to charity and the majority are hardback x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.1 -
Exactly the same thing happened to me Monday night. I could see the pin had fallen out and had to warn everyone the pin could be in their food lol
Luckily it was only my food, but DH said yesterday that the tong fell out the other day, but he just shoved it back on!!
Normally he is the first to bin anything that looks as if there is anything wrong with it.
A few small items decluttered:
7. 3 empty food bags from the freezer. The food had been used, but bags left behind.
8-9. Two Christmas decorations that were broken, along with their packaging.
10. Recycled more cards along with papers from work.
I'm hoping to get rid of a few things at the recycling centre (aka the dump) this weekend, let's see if it happens.1 -
I did manage to do something yesterday! Just tiny but still....I cleared out one very, very small drawer.
Not my finest day but a small something done is better than nothing!!!1 -
I'd like to join please. Already sent 2 bags of paper recycling (finished a PhD, got rid of a lot of academic junk!) to the recycling. I'm in marking hell at the moment so decluttering might have to wait a little but hoping seeing you all getting on will keep me motivated!
Well done Ellie, it took me a long while to throw out reference papers just in case I needed them. I think my poor parents still have some in their house.1 -

1. DO NOT PUT OFF TO TOMORROW WHAT CAN/SHOULD BE DONE TODAY
2. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS”
3. LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
4. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
5. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
Friday has been mixed - sunshine with intermittent drizzle & now very cold. DSis went to P.O. to return an item of clothing - wrong sizeThen continued on to A*da & bought herself a pair of jeans.
DH & I have been quite busy - cab to airport booked, moved items from garage to shed, moved food & drink from garage fridge/freezer to kitchen fridge/freezer, tidied garage & now both bikes are in the garage, lo veg chopped, bagged & frozen, ood brandy sauce binned, used up the last of the eggs & tomatoes & mushrooms added to bacon & sausages for tonight’s dinner. Tonight we will be packing for our holiday :j

The weather on Thursday changed quite drastically - overcast then absolutely bucketed down & guess what DH & I were doing? We were out on the Motorbike :rotfl: Fortunately we missed the major downpour but had to negotiate the rather deep puddlesI managed to get a couple of swimsuits, tanking top & 2 pairs of men’s swim shorts :rotfl: & DH picked up a couple of tops. DSis managed to find a few bits on her trip into Lewisham. Dinner was cheeseburger, chips & baked beans.
Everything on my To Do lists is up to date :T - washing done, dried, folded & put away, urgent mending done, last of the holiday clothing bought & a small sm shop.
